Well it's only my opinion and I was offered 3 consultancy jobs. I don't think there is anything wrong with sucking up! It shows that you've taken the time to understand the industry which you want to work in. I don't see how that could be interpreted in a negative way.

After you finish your ACA, try to move into corporate finance at Deloitte. Then a few years after that, it is possible to go into IBD as an associate. It is definitely a realistic ambition.
