Spies was pretty impressive in his debut. I think we ( being the USA ) have a true contender for next year. Colin Edwards got a 5th because of him too. Now for the long winter break. There were some great races this year. There were a lot of blow outs too. So I raise my glass to the races of 09...even though it's early.

Suprised no one has answered you yet. 1000.00 bucks for a first bike is gonna be a challenge. Usually for that price expect to have to put work into it. You will not get a fuel injected bike and carb services are expensive. I would say look at ebay or Craigs list, now that the summer is over, you may find someone just trying to get rid of one quick. if you want to pick up a used 250 though, you might have some good luck. kawasaki Ninja ex250....

for that price. dual sport is probably your best bet...like said above, a $1000 sportbike will need work put into it. my first bike was a Kawasaki ninja 250..check one of those out. for $1000 you may be able to get one thats in decent shape

If the price is that limited, you may want to consider a standard bike rather than a sportbike. Or a...

I do not think that for a beginner having a bike as your only means of transportation is wise. I would look into a used car first, then a used bike. Price the insurance of the bike you want to buy first. That may be a deal breaker for you. Perhaps a nice used scooter for tooling around on would work too. If you're hell bent on going with a bike, try to find a older XT 250-650 They go cheap and ...

That's a good track for Rossi. Since ducati has done well there in the past, I think it will be a fight between him and Rossi. I don't expect Lorenzo to beat him despite having better pace now, although Rossi won't be making any hard passes, he's only going to pass if he has a good opportunity and not risk a fall.

GO!!!!!! I enjoyed watching those guys this year. There were times when I didn't think either of them would end up as they did.

Buell was always the ' red-headed stepchild' of H-D. The only reason it existed is that they hoped to lure the younger generation over to their company and sell them on "real men's bikes", i.e. their overpriced H-D turds.
Evidently, it didn't sell. Too bad...Buell at least made some interesting machines in their time.

Not if we do something about it! If Mark only needs $240 to keep the forum up while he works out a new deal, I can put up $100 of that, even half of it. Can anyone else pitch in? I know I haven't donated before, but this forum has given me so much, it's time to put up or shut up. If the forum goes down before a new deal is made, I'd say there's a good chance it won't come back, and I don't want ...

sweet. I need 4 quarts of MTG (Make sure that's right, tell him it's the special stuff for the NV4500 transmission - he'll know what it is, or Amsoil will tell him)
Napa wants 20 bucks a quart for the Royal Purple version, and the dealership wants 65 bucks a half gallon for the OEM...
