I take it from the lack of words, that HUB version 1.5 can't be flashed?
Tried to flash and got an
authorisation failure.

one power lead.
I take it you have enough sata ports on the board to run the extra drive ? if not you would need something like this

Hope someone can help me with this problem. I currently have a number of devices wired (using powerline plugs) to my BT2700HGV, including an
Apple TV. I also connect an Ipod touch wirelessly to the router.

The
PC2100 ram is slower than the 2700 ram. It is very possible that the timings are set for the 2700. You can check in the BIOS for this. You should be able to set it at a lower speed, which may let the system see the full amount of ram.
Something to keep in mind, some motherboards won't work with three memory sticks if they are above a certain size. Example, slot 1 256megs, slot 2 256megs,...

Does the monitor have both
analogue and digital inputs? If so he may need to select the correct one using one of the setup buttons on the monitor. Need a bit more detail really to be more helpful (e.g. make/model).
