Thanks everyone for the helpful comments and advice. I will let you know how things pan out. The complication for me is having to get to grips with the Mac as well (sadly I'm totally WINDOZ! through and through). Interesting experience though.

Ah! All this talk has stirred the gray matter! How about connecting it to a TV? Most TV's will take the output from a PC - I have even connected my laptop to our old (main TV) 28" Toshiba tube TV. Edit : Just re-read Austin_KW post above, might not be a good idea.

Published (2009-11-17 16:52:00)
I have a BT home hub v1.0 but i cannot for the life of me unlock it. I have reset the router to its factory defaults. That means the username is 'admin' and the password is the hubs serial number. I downloaded the flash utility and the older firmware. The router is detected fine and I am prompted to entre the username and password. This takes me to a screen where I can choose a *.bin file. so I chose the old firmware. when I click...

How to Setup Sipgate on BT2700HGV
Published (2009-11-22 10:56:00)
Do you need a sipgate account - yes Have tried configuring sipgate and outgoing calls work fine. However, had no success with incoming calls. Tried both 5.29.107.19 and 5.29.117.6 firmware versions without luck. The device also registers with sipgate servers. Trying to call the device from the sipgate web interface does not work either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the comments folks. I think I will try the VNC route to start with but we are thinking of putting a small Flat Screen TV in the room where the mini mac and weather station receiver live so that might be an alternative. I'm no expert but surely you would need to have a direct connection to the laptop screen in order to do that. None of the sockets on a laptop do that do they?

It's probably an AC97 onboard CODEC and these tend to be board specific. Unfortunately, the only place that your board was referenced no longer exists. Grab a copy of Aida32 and run it. In the right hand pane, select Devices>>>Physical Devices. What's listed there relative to your sound "card"?

I thought it would not matter what the profile name was. This same information is also around pages 14 and 15 of this thread. http://www.the-scream.co.uk/forums/t22658-28.html? Thanks.

Hiya. The space originally occupied by the deleted files is marked as available and/or free space by the Operating System once deleted, the files havent technically been deleted as such and are still there as you say, but once that marked free space is overwritten, then the original deleted file is lost or becomes fragmented beyond full recovery. You probably got them back by not writing to ...

Easy way is to get a caddie http://www.ebuyer.com/product/120659 Or http://www.ebuyer.com/product/125641 to run two sata drives of one power lead. I take it you have enough sata ports on the board to run the extra drive ? if not you would need something like this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/48670
