I wont name the company but I work with ADSL BB. Unfortunately the 2 things that determine speed are line length and attenuation which is simply general line condition and these cannot be changed dramatically by the end user.... what attenuation does your neighbour have?..It may well be lower. 68db is quite high and just a few years ago would have been deemed too high to support BB. You can do the obvious things like connect to the master...

Did you try plugging your computer into the 'master socket' of the BT phone socket when you did the AOL phone test ?

There is also your mobile where access is getting faster in some areas. It depends on how much you plan to use the connection because the costs can be alot higher than normal broadband, probably far higher than the amount you save in BT line rental. However, I see this changing in the future. Orange (owned by France Telecom) and Wannado (the former Freeserve also owned by France Telecom) ...

i;would not think that it would be down to the router,could be the settings(way its configured),or that something else is using bandwidth at the same time causing lag,or may even be the master server at fault,does it not display the ping times to each game?, the only way i would say it could be down to the router is if it is faulty,or if it simply do not like your xbox console some routers don't...

- I just thought I'd try the power cable that came with the replacement hub and it seems to have solved my problem! - Faulty power cable in the first hub package! Will put the first home hub up on ebay without power cable!

Does the router have ADSL in its name, if not it does not have a built in modem and you have to connect it to a DSL modem. Does the sagem modem have a LAN/ethernet port, Connect the WAN port on the Router to the LAN port on the modem. If the sagem modem only has USB then you cannot connect the router to it.
