Aww...some things are not for everyone. I, for the life of me can't get into some of my husband's historical anime or currently Gurren Lagan. When I tried to get him hooked on UY, I could tell several times while watching it w/ him he was disinterested, so I figured I wasn't going to push it on him if he really didn't care for it. You know sometimes though as much as they don't like something, after a while it will...

WOW. That zapping crack is awesome! Me and my GF sometimes use baka and tomboy as sort of pet names. lol I've also joked about her having a mallet somewhere, and said that the reason I do almost anything she asks is for the fear of being hit with it. After all, unlike Ranma, my skull is not invincible. Just my arm. LOL (seriously, funny story about that....) And on a side note, I have recently taking to calling my anime-disliking father...

Nabiki's questionable money-acquiring habits would likely be her only fault. I think we could get Nabiki on multiple counts of extortion, illegal use of another person's image, human trafficking, running an illegal gambling operation (anime only), and possibly identity theft, plus one count of attempted murder. After Happosai, I think the person with the longest rap sheet would be either Ranma or Genma.

lol... The other night, I convinced her to watch Episode 1 of the Anime with me... Once again, she didn't get into it I Really think it has to do with my overkill approach to it. We met when we were teens over the internet. When she came to the US (she's from another country) to learn English and see our country, Ranma was one of the first things I introduced her to (even though its not American!!) Now 10 years later with almost 3...

Well, Happi's breaking and entering, petty theft, sexual assault and assault and battery are beyond counting at this point! Nabiki's questionable money-acquiring habits would likely be her only fault. Akane has been guilty of assault on several occasions...actually, pretty much all of the martial artists would be guilty of assault. Soun hasn't done too much, besides the assault of which the whole cast is guilty, except when...

Just something I want to add to Yoiko's Cultural Notes, although this has nothing to do with Japanese culture: In Akane's swimming class story, we see her wearing a swan-like outfit in a dancing position. This has a reason that might be obvious for some people, but maybe not for others: it's a clear reference to Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" ballet. Considering that Akane is also wearing a crown, it could be...

some of the books were compressed together when translated. the original books left a lot of cliffhanger volumes, so i guess vis made some books bigger so that people wouldn't be put off

My fiance does! We met online in College, and since my name back then was Anime-Fan, he learned pretty quickly to appreciate the awesomeness that is Ranma. If he hadn't been so tolerant, I doubt we would have lasted a month, let alone 8 years, lol. Even now, when he wants to make me mad, he just says Ukyo's the "true" fiancee, at which point I need to smack him upside the head to correct his error in judgment....

As much as I dislike the whole Ranma becomes pregnant premise, your claim that the story remains true to the manga does catch my interest (though I have no
idea how you'd pull it off). And you've obviously put a lot of time and effort into this project, so I really hope it succeeds. Though, honestly, the
cover (as well drawn as it is) does remind me of something straight out of the Ranma Hentai ...

Hmm, I remember something similar, only it was what kind of diseases and mental disorders the characters from Winnie the Pooh suffered from. If I were to think
about what kind of crimes the Ranma cast would have committed if the laws of the real world were brought upon them it would make my head spin.
I look forward to people's replies but unfortunately I do not think that I can contribute ...

Yes, and he loves Ryoga. I think it's the only anime box sets we have that he's willing to watch over and over all the way through.

True. But apart from Ranma, everybody for the most part seems to likes cats. Maybe Shampoo is trying to gain alittle popularity on the side.

Well, I've always pronounced it Yoh-ee- koh. I don't remember how I first heard it, but I do believe that is correct.

Yeah, first time I saw it I kept thinking "oh crap, I can't keep a straight face at a DISNEY movie with a PANDA who knows martial arts!" I
don't think it was a direct rip off though, but it MIGHT have been somebody's veiled salute to Takahashi. The more movies and shows I watch, the more I
catch salutes to other shows. Like that Ranma 1/2 Gyro in Star Trek... and I could swear I saw a total ranma...
