While I have watched, streamed or rented dvds of various anime, MI is the one anime I have bought and do not plan on selling. Well maybe I'll sell
vol 8
for a few grand.

No, there's really no chance. The series just didn't sell well enough here in the States to warrant the release of any "
supplementary"
materials for it. For awhile there I thought they would release at least the movie, but after this many years since they finished production of the anime on
dvd, I'd say its a virtual certainty that it will remain unreleased here.

What a nice coincidence; I just saw these very episodes this morning.
This revelation sets MI apart from other romances (or
romantic-comedies), because it creates a nice sense of no urgency and hesitation that makes the eventual
romance easier to root for by making the characters evolve in a way that is quite convincing. I found it to be a fascinating plot idea that "the dead are
perfect", ...

Now, this is not by any means a complete answer -- even to this one branch of the IF-tree I'm thinking of exploring here -- but. . . .
IF Mitaka does speak to Kyôko that day, it seems to me that must mean at the very least that none of the Dog Squad finds him -- so he's not collapsed in
the back room of the restaurant when she wakes up. (Or when Asuna leaves -- whether or not she's been ...

You are right that no normal person would break his own leg on purpose, but the thought that it could be a mere coincidence never crossed my mind. I always
assumed
Mitaka broke his leg on purpose.
Mitaka tells Kozue that Godai re-injured his leg, but when Kyoko asks Kozue to let her take care of Godai, Mitaka thinks to himself "Well, that totally
backfired!" And a few days later he ...

When we first met Ikuko, she was 12 -- both she and Auntie Kyoko said so, the latter while worrying about sending
Godai over to the Otonashi house to tutor
her. That would make her about 18 when the story ends (before the P.S.) -- not much younger than Kyoko was at the start, and probably starting at some
university. (At least I always felt that, when she was serious, she had more academic ...

The very first Christmas party is in
the third chapter of the manga : tankôbon Volume 1, Part 3, Katte ni Seiya! -- a lovely horrible
pun of a title. I dunno what Viz did with it -- maybe something more literal, like "Have-It-Your-Way Night". In my personal project I made it a
matching interjection: "Oh, Holy Night! . . ." -- with the alternative of an alternative joke: "No Time Like the ...
