PP's ad campaign is all about the snob appeal. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Rolex has used it to great effect. dP

if you buy it, its yours to do with as you like, but i think their point is that as long as its looked after properly, its likely that it will out live the original owner. Given the cost of their watches its not likely there will be much smashing going on, but that would certainly be your right

While I am a keen admirerer of the watches that Patek Philippe craft (some of the most beautiful watches ever to see the light of day), I can't help but feel frustrated by their famous slogan "You never actually own a Patek Philippe, you merely look after it for the next generation". Sure, most people recognize it so seen from that perspective it does its job. However, it is of my persuasion that...

hello All this is my PR50 that I have worn for more than five years now. My dad gave it to me as an admission gift in engineering university and I have worn it ever since in everything. My dad bought it in 1998 and gave it to me, without ever really wearing it, in 2004. It has never EVER given me ANY trouble. Never a fault developing. I have even worn it in hiking, other sports and a ...

I have listed my GMT for sale and am looking at the Blancpain Leman Chrono. Love the look and the fact that it has a date. But when I troll the Blancpain sites there seem to be a lot of posts of problems. Rarely see any of those posts on Rolex forums. Anyone here have experience with the brand?

Having got the usual suspects with Rolex, Sub date,Seadweller,Deepsea,Daytona etc etc.Next I have a couple of Panerai's 114 and an 89 which are great on leather. I've now broadened my horizons with a Chopard and i've revisited Breitling. Are you looking further than a Rolex.

I'm on holiday and was offered this new 2009 AP ROO from an AD for $17,000 (15% off retail of $20k) with no tax: http://www.vialuxe.com/Audemars-Pigu...1/Watch/501 428 It's the new silvered dial with red accents on SS bracelet. And it has AP's new in-house movement. The watch is stunning but I am new to AP and am just not sure if 15% off is fair in this economy. I could easily get ...

My Must have characteristics are: 1. MUST be a round dial. I feel that since the hands go around in a circle, only round dials look "right." The bezel does not have to be round (like the octagonal bezel of a ROO) but the dial must be round. 2. MUST be of a brand with a long and distinguished history. I love knowing that the watch I am wearing comes from a brand that has achieved glory ...
