Well above I are the specs and I will try to keep the progress of the tank as it goes. I have been doing freshwater for about 8 years now, with my oldest boy, and have been looking for an excuse to venture into saltwater (been reading and dreaming about it for 5 years). Anyway, my youngest boy wanted a "NEMO" so I am looking to focus this tank around Clownfish (Ocellaris) and Sea Anemone. I am also going to try my hand at...

TheReefDaVinci's 20 gallon Vitruvian Nano Aquarium. Hello everyone, I have always wanted a large aquarium. However, I currently live in an apartment and until I purchase a home I cannot force myself to build a large reef aquarium that could possibly need to be broken down due to some unforeseen circumstances that are beyond my control. So I decided that with my current situation a small 20 gallon nano aquarium would have to suffice. But...

I'm also concerned at the pace you are going, My tank which has mainly base rock in it and some live rock was cycled for 6 weeks and 6 snails added a week after the diatom bloom. Also the flowerpot coral is pretty delicate and would appreciate more light than 96watt, especially if it is a tall tank - also a coral experienced reefers have problems with. Maybe trade it back in for store credit?? Your tank would be more suited to soft...

Yews, I would remove anything that can trap organic matter and allow it to rot in the tank as it would cause your nitrates to rise.
Overall sounds like a good start

probably not the shark the Ray depends on how much rock you have in the
tank. They like soft sand and lots of it. Triggers sure lion to. Not to
sure about a flounder I dont know much about them

Welcome! You can do great things with a 20 gallon. I had a 15/20/29/and now I have a 45. Auto top off will keep you sane. I highly, highly, highly recommend one. You can buy one......but I made one for 20 bucks....and it works awesome! Up to you. I would go with some really good lights. If you get the 24" I would go with a 150 halide or a 250 halide. Either way you will be happy. If you get the ...

Keep in mind the purple lobster is only marginally safe for a reef and may eat small inverts. THe blue damsel is pretty aggressive.
Sounds like you have a good idea of what you want. WHat kind of filter you looking at or are you going to just use water changes?

Nice looking DIY rocks! That pump isnt too much at all. By the time it gets
to the tank which im guessing will be around 3' higher than the pump, it
will only be around 800 gph anyway im guessing.
