yes, I have used fusion on several things without a problem. For this tank, it "cured" for a while, but I think 24h does it. Mine is in the water with no problem. The paint does fairly well as being resistant to chipping. On some plastic parts that are apart of the return rubbed off while torquing it in. I also rubbed the back wall while it was still wet so I sharpie-ed in a place (you might be able to see it) but it has done well so...

Agreed. I painted my stand today along with finished all plumbing! The drains are all set with flexible tubing going from the bulkheads to the sump and the return is a nozzle with flexible tubing going down to a mag 9.5. Everything is secured with hose clamps! I also started my canopy All I need to do is screw in the reflectors, add rock and get the return pump and im all set! WOO!

most are designed for freshwater use. I suppose that crushed coral/larger marine substrate could work but normally the calcium/biota begin fusing the material together making vacuuming tough. It is better to use a large flat spoon/turkeybaster/long handled aquarium scraper to mix up the sand and have enough flow for the skimmer/filter to catch it. This is the problem that makes me go barebottom

I had a 55 a long time ago and regret not getting a 90 gallon or larger. If you have the means, get the larger tank. You may be able to build your own bio cube tank, but read up about it first. Take it slow and if you need to do things yourself don't be afraid to do it.

it polishes the water even further as the RO membrance does not typically catch everything. What you want out of a unit is for the RO membrane to do 99% of the removal and for the DI to catch that 1% left over..
