Newborn shoot c&c??

I wish my daughter's newborn pictures turned out as nice as these! I really like them. I agree with some of the comments made.. But, I'm not a huge fan of using a lot of PS to edit newborns, I like looking at the true beauty of them... Plus, working with a 6 day old, is not the easiest! Nice work

Thanks for the comments! And I actually didn't extend the pillow. I just cropped in a bit on the picture to remove the black but I do see what your saying. I really appreciate the critique and the help with these. I am wanting to learn as much as I can and improve on everything i can. Thanks again! It's nice to FINALLY get some really critiquing by someone who knows what they are talking about. Also I will check out that training...

Love dark exposures for male models. That said #1 may be too under exposed. #2 works with that backlight. Cool up and downs on the last two.

Photoshoot of a couple

To me they feel like they are in between snap shots and a portrait session. The lighting and shadows are very uncontrolled, except in #4. I think you have too much in focus, and the backgrounds in #1,#2,#3,#5 are distracting and competing with the subjects. They don't feel like environmental portraits, there isn't anything particularily interesting to me about a parking lot or that park. I am assuming you are shooting with an APS-C,...

#1 the colors are dull and could use a bit more exposure. i'd also prefer it if the little bit of ground on the left and branch in the upper left weren't there. #2 is underexposed by quite a bit. and i think this should be someplace other than the pro gallery.

Good pictures, just random questions and comments that you probably shouldnt really take into FULL consideration, but maybe a little :P
Just me or is it a bit desaturated as in colors are bland?
Those slippers in last pictures have got 2 go... :P

awesome hairstyle, shot #2 is my pick out of the series although the expression is a tiny bit forced imo, but good shot nonetheless, the colors, focus and the vignette works nicely here

To be truthful, they don't act like a couple. Might be a cultural thing, I dunno. But they should be looking at each other. He seems to be pulling away and/or looking away from her.
Losing the shades would help some.
I just don't get the warm, fuzzies from these.
I wouldn't want anything like these in my memory album.
Technically, your photography is alright.

I like the look of the model, but in this case I don't like the two strobes.

Cute kid.
Personally, I'm not a fan of blownout images (in number 2 Daddy's arm and kid's belly are clipped on highlights), but it is a nice capture.

#1 I like how the grass looks really garish in relation to the smooth clean look of the model.
#2 I don't like the angle and I think it is unflattering to the model. It makes her look bigger than she is.
#3 not really digging it, it feels unresolved. I don't like the composition in combination with the wide angle feel.
#4 I like her face a lot in this one. Inside nose needs cleaning ...

Well, with two people in agreement, perhaps I should explain some of the mentality behind the black and white. In the first image, the rocks (pure basalt) are completely black. Additionally, the low contrast sunset and the white sea spray and ocean caps produced an environment that very nicely suited the black and white print.
No worries if we don't agree, everyone should absolutely have ...
