I haven't seen many grackles lately, i've seen alot of Blue Jays, mourning doves, those little birds with the same coloration as sparrows but they're much faster, woodpeckers, i saw one of the big ones the other day at the woodpecker food, downy?, lots of sparrows, although Hammy is trying to cut down the population, no grackles though. 2828

Art! Who are you pulling for in Top Chef and Next Iron Chef? Do you watch them both? I was so glad when that older women was sent home last night on Top Chef. She was driving me crazy. - Catmeyoo ----------------- Yes, I watch both shows. I liked Amanda Freitag a lot on Next Iron Chef. Now that she is gone home - between the three remaining Chefs left - I don't care too much who wins. I suppose I might have to root for one of the Latin...

Oh me too, I have to write that down on my calendar before I forget, and schedule it on tivo. I hope it doesn't come on at the same time as White Collar. That's another new crime show surprisingly good so far. I really like the older guy and the young one isn't bad either. _________________ BYW I can't believe I said Friday, it is Sunday, sometime (always?) the brains and fingers do not connect so well.

Any librarians out there?
Published (2009-11-12 23:07:00)
My ideal home would have a small library with room for about 1000 books. I have 6 bookcases full of books....but they are all in a very narrow area of specialty. I suspect that within 20 years, books are going the way of the 8 track tape. Already, there are college libraries that have gone 'book free'. They are all electronic - their collections are all electronic, and college kids read the books on their Kindle or equivalent....

Something New From The Dems

I'm going to tell you a great secret. It's a lot cheaper to be retired than it is to work. For us I don't know. On my side of the ledger, I wouldn't spend anymore or less on gas, no more on clothes (I go to work in shorts and T-shirt weather permitting and change into hospital scrubs once there, so no suit and tie stuff for me), no more on food because I brown bag it, the only big saver would be malpractice insurance. For...

Interesting article about rising tensions in Asia. Mike http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/asia/article6913... -------------------------------------------------------------------- This week the flashpoint is their disputed Himalayan border, as China protests over the Dalai Lama’s visit to a northeastern Indian state that it claims. Investing in them and then dricing them out of buisness is just blatantly stupid/ Driving the overpaid executive into a hissy fit is different that driving the company out of business. Perhaps they'll be able to get saner executives in place, at least ones willing to divest the business of unprofitable or inappropriate units.

I don't think we have to wait. Remember when Clinton and the Repubs supposedly did away with welfare, particualy direct cash payments like AFDC. Well, Obama has duplicated and greatly increased direct cash payments via refundable tax credits. We now have unemployment compensation that goes on forever, so when does it actually become welfare. We just don't call it welfare anymore, sort of...

"Did anyone see the article yesterday about Reid proposing an increase in Medicare tax, plus applying it to cap gains. There's a very good chance that the charges will get thrown by the court. Virtually any evidence they have against these turds probably violates the 4th Amendment, if normal criminal rules are applied. Plus, who would want to serve on the jury, knowing that a guilty verdict could mean death to jurors and their families. This is totally dumb, and it ain't Holder who made the decision. ...

Wal-Mart is one of the most hated companies in America by the liberal maggots. I shop there because they don't hire unions and I can get the same brands of products I want and need at a lower price.
