Been giving some thought to hotels recently. I casually follow the ones that have pfd stocks. All of them have been downgraded in the last two months....AHT,FCH,LHO,BEE,SHO,HT,HST, and HPT(don't go near this pig - think Travel Centers of America). It's not hard to understand why with the economic picture the way it is and gas thru the roof. But i was eyeballing SHO-A for it's 11.45% ...

Here's some of it: "According to the latest data from the Census Bureau and the National Association of Realtors, median home prices in July equaled 3.6 times median household incomes. This may be down from the peak of four times incomes set back in 2005, but it is still far above the 2.9 ...

Just a heads up. The prices for NRF pfds are movely opposite the direction of the common. It can mean that someone is liquidating the pfds and the prices will ease back up after a bit. I keep an eye on these types of moves. Could be a trade here. Maybe................... Xot

The CFO of RAIT Financial Trust bought 500 sh. of RAS-A on 8/27. He also bought 2000 sh. of common. The CAO (a new designation to me) also bought the RAS-A on 8/27. I unhappily own some of the "B". My experience tells me the CFO of any company is likly to be the most conservative of the officers---it was certainly true of the firms I worked for. I'm considering adding to my holdings...

The best thing is they are downloadable to an Excel spreadsheet so you can sort the data as you like. Very, very useful for pfd stock research..................Xot http://online.wsj.com/mdc/public/page/2_3024-Prefe rreds.html...
