you are smart to use stops that said, this sell-off looks like classic bull market fare, a correction the weekly chart makes me think we have another 5% to go: http://stockcharts.com/h-sc/ui?s=GDX&p=W&b=3&g=0... ... I have missed a lot of rebounds by trying to wait for that last 5% so I am in. Still holding the ABX which gave up all of their post-hedge gains and more looking back, the ABX hedge buy-back pretty much DID...

a 3 week low in the price of gold that headline almost made me laugh in any other market that would be a completely unremarkable fact but it is headline material because of the runup in gold lately http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/gold-slides-to... Gold (GC-FT1,136.20-7.20-0.63%) tumbled to a three-week low under $1,130 (U.S.) an ounce Tuesday, as a resurgent U.S. dollar and risk-averse sentiment sent skittish bullion investors...

Nice chart, but these dips come in pairs..... (also check out those previous cases where the dip just failed to reach the bottom line) Btw: I really like the CCI, but IMO its a buy only when the CCI rises more than 100 points from its previous low point.

Since you have such a vast :-) portfolio of miners, and this article is about shrinking supply, I'll pose a question here... http://stockcharts.com/charts/gallery.html?GDXJ btw: mmm-Gap $25.50 on Nov.13th Would GDXJ be an obvious winner? I'm thinking along the lines of M&A. The big boys not in the index would be buying the little guys in the index. As the acquirer the big boy's pps would likely dip/drop, while the...

I'll get back into CEF when gold holds above 1170 for two days." http://www.kitco.com/charts/livegold.html shows a series of different length charts on gold. I don't see any support on the recent downfall. Price has already broken the 30 day trend. The next solid hold on the 60 day is at $1050. $1050 also shows on the six month,...

For the non-TA folks among us, is a 50% retracement of a the last "Fib wave" a good thing, or a bad thing? I grew up hearing that fibbing was bad, but it was never capitalized. 11 recs (so far) for the post make it the most rec'd post in recent memory and so apparently indicates that it means something important to a lot of people.

I bet if you went back to 1981, you could find all kinds of predictions about how much higher gold was going to go then, I do remember when the evening news quotes the price of gold each night in 1981. They didn't do that for very long, by the way. Finally, that chart you posted showed a lot of other price spikes that happened as rapidly as this one, and all prior ones failed. http://...

I've stopped out of most of my position. Gold is a bit vulnerable to profit taking and associated short leeches, given both the steepeness and inexorability (lack of back and fill) of its recent rise, and the fact that we are now in December. What we found in 2004 was that the rise was purely punter driven and when they tried to close their books before Christmas ... the buyers were "...
