<<You remind me very much of a local man in our town who got caught by a red light camera. He went to court to appeal it on the grounds that the camera was unconstitutional. The municipal judge took a look at the video, and told him to pay the fine. He got so mad that he began a campaign to get the cameras banned. He got the signatures on the petition and he got the issue on the ballot and this week, he got his wish: the RLCs...

This is pretty much all I can do do defend myself. That's because you know you were speeding and the officer caught the right person. Your only option left is to discredit the officer. I think you may have come to the wrong board if you are looking for sympathy and support. PSU

The government has yet to start penalizing you for giving them an interest free loan. Of course if you loan it to them for to long it is gone. The state of California does. Vickifool Reference please. I haven't seen any reference to this on my tax returns. We have been underwithheld for the last few years. California is increasing withholding rates. We also increased withholding this year and didn't make estimated tax payments....

It's not as great as it sounds. Most studies confirm that beyond having your basic needs met comfortably, there's not much extra happiness in extra money or stuff. I'd like to conduct my own study on that theory.

How Do I Pick My Health Insurance?

I would bank $2400 yearly in my HSA to cover any deductrible. You can count on that, I don't want to be suprised!! As far as costs, the big ones were the diagnostic tests this year. It is a hard choice, basically, so I pay $2300 more now so that $750 gets you 90% on the major expenses or do I save $2300 now and pay $3600 to get 100% coverage, or do I go in the middle and pay $1000 more now for 80% coverage once I incur $1050 in expenses?...

If you fight it, they will bring what evidence they have to show the judge cause. And you can do so too (I once brought some nifty photos of a "no turn" sign obscured by an overgrown tree). Of course the police report will probably just be a written report not aural or video. It isn't like Perry Mason or anything. If there's a police report, you will probably be found guilty by the judge - unless you can show some...

<Perhaps we should abandon the custom of shaking hands and adopt the Asian custom of bowing. > Good idea! I have heard that hand shaking began to show that the people were not holding a blade in their right hands. Rather obsolete. Also, bowing is polite and doesn't spread infection. Wendy

That depends entirely on the area and what you can get. Around here, working fast-food delivery is good money. In a lot of places, you can't even get that job.

I was told and herein lies the rub, that people who buy their tickets from discounters, priceline being one of them, are put on the bottom of the "list". While I am super-empathetic to your scenario (particularly traveling with an infant), but this has always been the case. There's no way the airlines are going to bump someone who paid $1000 last-minute for a roundtrip when they ...

I'm not a lawyer. If the officer's behavior was inappropriate, he may get in trouble. That said, most likely unsafe behavior by the police officer is unlikely to result in a dismissal. As the saying goes, two wrongs don't make a right. I suspect all information the police have can be subpoenaed. It is also likely that the cost of getting the information may be more than the ticket....

I've been in your situation before. Companies are asking people to do more with less. The extreme position is one person will be asked to do everything, which is of course impossible. In the long run everyone loses when you burn out. Even in these times companies need trained productive employees, generally for a knowledge based position it isn't easy to bring someone on and train, ...

The American (female) Reality: I take issue with that description; I watched the video and it isn't MY reality. It isn't the reality of any women I know, all of whom are working and most of whom are mothers. It is the reality of poor women in Troy, NY. To say otherwise is misleading and disingenuous. Minxie

Most of the patients we see here in the hospital actually have community-acquired MRSA rather than hospital-acquired MRSA. If you're visiting family in the hospital, and they're in isolation... I can accept that the financial advisor created much of the financial mess, but how do you not notice that you haven't filed taxes for a number of years? It doesn't say he didn't file taxes. and here I thought I'd be seeing a post about you getting married! no one else can make you happy, but I'm not sure everyone expects this when they get married. Some just want a life partner. Watch out for the candy. It has been prayed over by witches: http://www.charismamag.com/index.php/newsletters/s piritled-w... Many churches post signs in their entryways on needed items for their food pantry. It usually runs along the lines of pasta and sauce, fruit juice, peanut butter, tuna or canned meats, cereal/oatmeal. Soap, shampoo, and paper goods are often appreciated as well- you can't buy toilet paper and the like with food stamps.
