this H1N1 scare has been blown waaaay out of proportion. Only if you fixate on it. If you just read the facts, it's just a flu that kills some kids and people with complicating issues. No biggie.... as long as it ain't you or your kid *wink*.

Parathyroid

Turns out my calcium is fine but the parathyroid hormone is 94 (normal is 14-72). So I'll be seeing an endocrinologist/endo surgeon soon. Sigh.

Very nicely explained. Were you at one time a teacher? Thanks. No, I never was but I enjoy explaining things. I've done some volunteer tutoring (Spanish to English speakers and vice versa) and have thought about getting certified in ESL. --fleg

Especially if you live in the northern region, and doubly so if you have dark skin, please be aware that you need to supplement Vitamin D when you are not getting at least 10 minutes of summer sun per day. Add sunscreen use to the issues that reduce vitamin D production. But regardless.... EVERYONE should have their vitamin D level tested!!! Even light-skinned people who spend ...

Cashemco......can I ask why you reproduced this garbage on this particular board (I checked, at the time of this post, you hadn't bothered to insult anyone else's intelligence) I'd FA it as a being appreciably more insulting than the stuff that doesn't pass muster with TMF's profanity filter.....but WTF do they care? This makes you look very unintelligent indeed......you'd do yourself a big ...

I had a parathyroid node surgically removed 3½ years ago. The problem came to our attention by a slightly elevated blood calcium reading on a routine screening. Follow-up blood work revealed the high calcium again plus elevated parathyroid hormone and everything else normal. The parathyroid consists of four separate nodes. When it goes hyper, it's usually just one of the nodes. ...

I've had very good results with www.iherb.com . Products have been good, shipping is fast, customer service is EXCELLENT. There's usually free shipping over $60 or so. Check for coupons - there are sometimes a few out there. Once you've been a customer with them, they offer you an extra percentage discount off of purchases, which increases in % as the size of the order increases. I usually ...

Hey mazke - I've mentioned it here before, but something that could apply, other than muscle strain, lack of stretching or furniture issues, is low Vitamin D. Here's my old post on it (scroll to the bottom for my story & some links about the role Vitamin D deficiency has in chronic low back pain: http://boards.fool.com/Message.asp?mid=25141910 I've found it to be something regular doctors ...

Scufflaw! Store-bought pies?!?!?!?!?!??!?! I'm hosting again and I'm doing the whole shebang...homemade crusts included (unfortunately using Crisco as the fat, since one attendee is a vegetarian - I prefer lard in my crusts). And I'm still on crutches. I'm thinking I'm nuts. Kristi
