Dollhouse - Worth Watching?

"But since it's been canceled, is it still worth watching? " So far, IMO, very much YES. I remain hopeful that Whedon will actually provide an ending. Ken

My opinion is not rubbish. I apologize for the wording, it certainly wasn't my intent to devalue your opinion but, rather, to express my own (somewhat strong - hence the hyperbole). Let me present this a different way: blaming Fox for Dollhouse's failure while ignoring all the attendant flaws in the series itself, IMO, is unreasonable. I see over and over that [insert favorite canceled show here] failed because of [insert network...

I submit that this occurs in all shows and that complete artistic freedom in any form of media production (be it network TV, cable, big screen, the music industry ... whatever) is extremely rare if it exists at all. I don't believe that the producers and writers are good enough for this to matter in most shows. They write episodes. Sitcom stuff. Junk. They write to the requirements of the network. So I submit that it is rare that the...

DollHouse 121809

Great concept, but really underdeveloped here. I had trouble with how poorly the "super soldiers" performed, and how unconvincing the "breaking the group mind" scenes were. I couldn't help but think this could have been a really great story arc if handled properly, probably over multiple episodes. True, but I thought it was mostly convincing how they implied that it was Echo's 40+ personalities...

Yamato: Rebirth

Figures... media companies are getting so good at shooting themselves in the foot it's not even funny. Do a search for "Yamato rebirth", at least two of the other trailers were still online, though the one somebody TOS'd was easily the best (and longest) of them :(

True, but I thought it was mostly convincing how they implied that it was Echo's 40+ personalities that immediately obtained a "majority vote" that was able to change the group mind's decisions. That was OK, I was thinking more of Victor and his war buddy breaking free. And how many, many times the soliders looked like they had a clear shot at Victor, Sierra, or Echo and just stood around. And I mean before Echo...

I SO WANT!!!

In ST:TOS it was the red shirts that "bought it" regularly each episode. I thought the gold shirts nominally designated the "command track". In ST:TNG it was the gold shirts with the targets painted on them. I thought TNG red shirts designated the "command track" officers. I have no idea why, but it appears that they changed the significance of the shirt color between the episodes.

Kind of a late reply but it is a very good show. The second season is not as strong as the first until toward the end. The last five episodes/miniseries might have been the best sci fi I've ever seen on television. Enjoy

but it was just rushed 'cause y'know, Fox are idiots. Are they? If we were talking about Firefly I'd say yes because Fox participated heavily in sinking that show. But with Dollhouse - what did they do wrong? Let's face it, the ratings were horrendous and I can't see how we pin that on Fox this time. TV is a business - no viewers, no advertising money. I'm amazed they didn't give...
