Just 1 this year...so far. For those that are looking to donate antlerless deer, the Eaton County Branch QDMA is paying for the processing of deer that will be donated to the Eaton-Siren shelter in Charlotte. Deer can be dropped off at Hanna-Davis in Sunfield, George's in Charlotte, and Rick's in Eaton Rapids. Each of the last 2 seasons we have donated over a ton of boneless venison and a freezer. That equates to over 16,000 servings...

My favorite time of hunting is when the woods are snow covered. As you sit in your stand and the sun comes up it begins to melt the snow off of the branches. You can hear and see the water drops melting and falling to the ground. Or the deer that stops right in front of you as it moves along grazing and stops to itch its head with its hind leg. Or the Red Tailed Hawk that navigates through the trees and lands on a nearby branch effortlessly....

More than likely, your buddy never bought his license. They do a computer check right at their truck. 99% of COs will give you a warning as long as you actually purchased your tag. With the 1%, if you fight the ticket in court, and prove that you had bought your tag PRIOR to the ticket, the ticket will be thrown out. Its just like not having proof of insurance in your vehicle, as ...

I did give away two last year and so far I only have one so I better get busy to match the two from last year. The best part was seeing how much they appreciated the venison. One lady had a son about 6 or 7 and he kept on asking if she would cook him roast. It was past dinner when I brought it so I knew that was out of the question. Well that Sunday I cooked a roast and called over to see if ...

We had fewer numbers this year as well, but I wanted to say nice work on giving the smaller ones a chance. It always makes me laugh when you talk to guys complaining about fewer and fewer deer up here so they decide to fill a handful of doe permits kill every spike they see.

I personally love hunting in the rain. I think it keeps the deer moving. I would hunt near the bedding areas. IMO they get up and move around their bedding areas when it is raining. Stay near the thick stuff especially late in the season. Posted via Mobile Device

Sunrise in the woods is the first thing that came to mind. When that first light breaks and the forest starts to wake up... first a chirp, then a few more, then a flurry of activity. That's always fun to experience! On my way out to experience it now in fact! KW

I'm just curious if every county in Michigan had a buck taken in 2009 by a M-S member. Tell me what county you got your deer in and how many points. I'll just list the first for each county. We'll start off with the one I killed in Iron County. Alcona County - bucknasty11208 (8 point) Alger County Allegan County - Chuck (5 point) Alpena County Antrim County ...

Up to 100 calls/hour ? Seems way high, except maybe on Nov. 15th. With all the listening to calls and returning calls, how much time do they have to actually respond to calls ? Interesting reading, thanks. I'm sure what we read about is barely the tip of the iceberg. L & O

Go get a 12 of your favorite flavor of beer, get a kleenex, and cry your heart out for the rest of tonight. Then, you get yur ***** up at whatever time gets you into the woods before everyone else.
