You shot an old squaw in your first year hunting ?.... Don't even talk to me............ Just teasing, congrads on your success. And yes ! I have not shot one yet ! But heck I've only been doing this for over 40 years. When I was hunting outside old squaws were rare, recently they have been on the comeback. That and an adult pinner are very high on my list.

I've been using 3" BC #3s this season, and I like them. Do they kill birds deader than regular steel? Nope. Just as dead. I don't find them to be extra dirty, my Beretta Extrema seems to have no problems with them and I've never gotten powder burns. The pellet wounds from the razor edges are impressive, so if you have a single pellet hit with one of them, it's much more likely to be lethal. Are they worth the extra...

Single or Double layout boat
Published (2009-11-28 14:14:00)
i like having 2 one man boats we set pretty big spreads most of the time. (shallow water) at least 300 decoys we try to look as much like a raft as possible. a layout on both sides of the spread covers about every thing. here is a pic from opener the boats are a little closer than usual because we had a wind change and were shooting ducks on a slight cross wind witch works well to.

Way to go Brent!! I had a prior committment this morning that kept me out of the field and I was bummed when I saw the weather. The first good wind and weather we have had in weeks and I couldn't get out.
Congrats on a good one man!

You did the right thing. Fields I wanted were gone too. The field I took should of been OK with that weather but we only got one greenhead and should of shot another and a screw up on a cake goose. The fields I wanted definately sounded like they were doing some banging around 10.

Sure surprised me ! You might find a few deals up til about mid Jan. then everything stops til spring. That's how it was last year. Only deal I found was in Maine......ain't going there...

I think we should all face it....this will go down as the crappiest duck season in the history of Michigan and northern Ohio.
Seen it bad....but never this bad.
SK said it a couple weeks back....and I didn't believe him...but now I do...
Something to the tune of..."yeah..the migration has already happened..."
