Really? Standing instruction?! Wow ... she sounds soooo demanding! Yay!! Thank you, Paul. Anyone at all who understands and honors tradition will understand why it is so important to me to read this each year. I love this poem and the beautifully crafted story it tells. I enjoyed it this year just as much as ever. And I sincerely appreciate that you honor the tradition for me. Thank you ... and happy, happy christmas, Paul Oh hell .... does...

I agree with the idea behind this, but I have observed over the course of years that there isn't really much courtship. If the male can catch the female
and get the needed grip on the scruff of her neck, she submits. This is why the tomcats are so intent on driving away other suiters - to make certain
they're the only one to get that chance.

I understand your point of view, Ivor, and generally agree with freedom of choice, but I have a hard time supporting smoking.

A simple and very affecting poem, Alice, the end result - a vivid picture of what I'm assuming is the Australian landscape!
Lovely.
