Just a FYI, when I talked to the shop they told me 19lbs. But the 23lb spring makes more sense of why it recoiled so nice. That 23lb spring working with the small radius firing pin stop does make a difference.

Great looking pistol and a well thought out set-up. Joe Rankin is a real gentleman and a pleasure to do business with. I am happy for him re: this recognition.

Steve wrote an excellent article on a excellent 1911 carry gun. At 35 oz's it is heavy in comparison to my normal carry guns, a Colt New Agent or Colt Colt lightweight Commander. However, being a great carry gun, I could get use to the extra weight. Steve, Thanks for devoting your time and energy on this fine article! Best of Luck! Rich
