Original finish Ithaca pistols were Dulite blue or
parkerized. Badly worn or parts pistols, absent some kind of solid provenance, are worth only the value of the parts and plated parts have little or no value. I would say $900 is about three times the actual worth of the pistol.

HS marked High Standard barrels are correct for
Ithaca, Rem Rands and US&S pistols. The number that is on the barrel hood is not a factory mark and would not be a correct original marking. It is really hard to tell why someone wrote the number on it. There are examples of National Match pistols that the serial number of the pistol was marked on the barrel so as not to lose track of the properly ...

If I were you I would leave the pistol just the way it is. The slide is not correct for the pistol anyway. Anything you do to it will only cost you and it still will not be original ever again. Even if you found a correct style and vintage A1 slide it still won't have the correct serial number on it to match the frame.

It looks like a pretty typical Arsenal Rebuild which was rebuilt at Augusta Arsenal (AA) and most likely saw use in WWII after it's rework and possibly on into Korea and VietNam too.
It looks like it has most of its correct parts by external
visual inspection except for the replacement grips which look like late WWII Colt large ring panels. Then after the Arsenal inspected the pistol and...

Hi
Thanks for sharing.I love to see stuff like that.
Can I ask you for take a more close-up on the right side
over under the M in Modell , on the frame side. Is it just me or is the scratch almost like a ordonance mark???
Thanks ulfman

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. If you have an all correct 1943 vintage 1911A1, the hammer should not be biting you. The hammers of that vintage are short and and the
grip safety, if correct , should have the larger and longer type toggle that protrudes out far enough so the hammer will only contact it and not have a chance to bite you. If by chance you have some earlier type parts off...

I'm new on here but very familia with guns, but I think what your asking is almost impossible. Like pricing an automobile with-out seeing it. Maybe someone can, but don't think its an accurate or good way to do business.
