PC-style means "pin covered". The bottom corner covers the MSH pin in the frame.

I don't think it raises any legal issues to modify the lever portion of the thumb safety. It doesn't affect function or disable the safety. DVC

I honestly don't know if there are enough out there for CT to open up a whole new line. I see this across the boards though, so I hope you get the support needed to get their attention. I've seen a number of "normal" CT grips altered for bobtail by the end users that have come out quite nicely. It's still the chopped bobtail that people seem to settle for, but if you want CT's on your bob, that's...

Dawson Precision has aluminum extensions that seem to be OK, if used with appropriate springs. They are made using the same principle as the STI - style base pads that they've been making for years. I witnessed a really funny incident a few months ago, when the +1 (international IPSC box) extensions of a shooter's Para mags gave way during a timed stage, one immediately after the other. I ...

Less durable? The barrel bushing doesn't more and is not subject to impact, except the somewhat cushioned impact of the recoil spring plug. The only point of direct wear is the collar that rides against the barrel and that should be kept lubricated. Just how would you quantify the degree to which EGW's steel is less durable than Kart's?

Usually, these sets are "matched and fitted" on a precisely accurate set of Colt pin holes....so.....if YOUR holes are exactly to spec, they are indeed "drop-in". That's about as good as anyone could reasonably expect, I think. Most folks have a great experience with these things, I say give it a whirl. You can't do better than Berryhill. DD
