Hey ! Welcome to the forum. I'll try to answer your questions # 1) Gently depress the firing pin , at the same time, depress the plunger under the slide to release the firing pin safety. At this point the FP should be able to be depressed below the FPS. While keeping the firing pin depressed, slowly push the firing pin stop toward the bottom of the slide. The firing pin will eject itself out once the FPS is pushed below it, so keep your...

Jeff (and Rick), Thanks for the heads-up. The slide stop is sometimes a bit of a bear going back in. I'll be on the lookout for that. paul

I usually use factory ammo in a new pistol untill it proves itself reliable. Then I begin using my fmj reloads followed by hp.

The host of Lock and Load on Showtime is a self-confessed "Kimberholic"!! On a "house call" to a busy vet he brought along at least two and one looked like an Eclipse II. -Ray

I have none other than what is posted on the errornet...I have not had any problems with the MiM parts in my Kimber or Springfield Armory Mil-Spec...I wouldn't expect you to have any problems with yours but beware what you read on the errornet (heck, suspect my responses too) as it might lead you to believe your MiM pistol will detonate into powder in a week...I haven't had a bad experience with either Kimber or MiM...good luck with...

FR Baseball,
Very nice. I'm especially fond of the "Clack" Looks just like mine, except mine is about 300 copies earlier than yours. It's my personal favorite and constant companion. (don't tell the COLT boys I said that)

I'd suggest that you call Kimber; but I'm pretty sure that it will. I don't think that kimber uses multiple dovetail cuts for their different style sights. Does the model you reference require that the slide aft of the dovetail be milled for a lower mount than the current sight requires?
All my Kimbers have the same style rear sights.
Take care,
Rick

Congratulations,
I have a Pro Eclipse. I think the Eclipse is one of the best looking out there.
If you get any scratches in the SS flats, a scotchbrite pad will make it look like new. Just make sure you go in one direction with the pad ( from rear of slide/ frame to the front) to make the appearance uniform.
That is one of the nice things about brushed stainless.

I used about 150 rnds of FMJ's on the last 1911 I broke in. Then, since I was intending to use cast bullets I put 500 rounds of my reloads thru the gun before I started thinking it was broken in. Fortunately my reloads worked, and I didn't have to tweak anything other than shooting them over a chrony to make sure they made power factor in the new gun.
To celebrate, I started using it in ...
