Favorite Finish On Wedges

I have played all types of wedges and really have no preference other than no glare but if I had to pick one black nickel/pearl looks the sharpest.

Taylormade Burner Iron Reaches #1
Published (2009-11-10 15:54:00)
Quote: For the first time ever, a TaylorMade iron ranks No. 1 in sales in the United States, as the TaylorMade Burner became the top-selling iron model in June, according to Golf Datatech.* No kidding? It surprises me that this is the first time ever. I figured it had already happened at some point.

Callaway Diablo Edge Irons
Published (2009-11-10 21:20:00)
Bonk-they do look somewhat similar. The design on the cavity is similar in shape, just "diablo" branded, lots of marroon, black, and gold. Personally, i wasn't a big fan of them in the looks department but contact was sweet! It's just not what i'd expect, especially since companies like TaylorMade are making super clean, simple design irons like the R9's. Honestly, they were a turn off. The rep also had a...

You are preaching to the choir. I think they do have some of the worst out there. My solution? By a Daphne's headcover. Great people that support great charities. Plus they are fun and much more cute.

It's kind of hard to tell from the single picture - but what's the difference between the 400 mid mallet and the Mr. Beasley (other than $149)? Or is it a neckless-Abaco?

I can completely understand their desire to start advertising on the site, running a site like that has to be quite time consuming and costly. I think it was a pretty bad move though, their biggest platform was that they offer 100% UNBIASED opinions of the equipment tested and they pulled advertising for just that reason. Now that they're under new ownership, I guess that's changing. I like the ...

For those that like the traditional looking driver, this is one of the nicest ones I have seen in a while.

Can't say I'm a fan of the look. Going down the pictures, it seemed a pretty plain-jane looking putter, and then there's that odd protrusion on the face.

JB -- Is THP going to do any reviews on this driver? All my clubs except my putter ( Never Compromise - Voodoo Daddy) and driver (Taylormade R9) are Cobra's. The new snake sounds good however I am waiting for THP to put the word out? Thanks -- Bill S

Awesome pictures Harry. Looking forward to your feedback. This thread will serve as another opportunity for THP readers to have questions answered about these specific irons from another tester.

I have 3 hybrids. A 2, 3 and 4 so I don't need a 5 wood. I would rather have 3 options on 180 - 215 than any other distance. I feel I use those 3 hybrids alot per round. They all have a use in my bag.

In anticipation of the holidays, the Chinese golf club counterfeiters are ramping up their presence. They keep buying domain names and cloning websites. So, this list will be outdated as soon as I post it. But hopefully it will save someone from getting ripped off.

Cleveland used to have the tour satin chrome (not sure if they still do). That is the one I prefer. The black nickle finish that Mizuno has would be a close second. Anything that doesn't have a glare is fine with me though. If you open up a chrome wedge at the wrong angle you might not see for a few holes.

When all else fails, a black sharpie does work in spots. I think Gummi Bear knew some better info on the paint.
