End of February is just the beginning of prime season for golf down there so great deals will be hard to come by, especially the "must play" ones. The latter starts at your high $50 ++ so your choices could be limited. Someone like "knightgolf"...

Any recommendations on a good value course or a mid-priced golf course (less than 100) that you would recommend in the Orange County, CA area? I have 3 days during the week and my selection list is the following: San Clemente Municipal Oak Quarry (Riverside) Talega Black Gold (yorba linda) I am also considering going down to Barona Creek

Ive never played Black Gold but went there for a clinic and it looked pretty awesome. Ive never really ventured out there to golf so I cant help you too much. Here is a good list of the courses in the OC. http://www.greenskeeper.org/southern...f_courses/#top Ive heard good things about Eagle Glen as well if you feel like driving out to Corona.

You might want to consider Aliso Creek GC. I played there yesterday for the first time and had a great outing. Its a 9 hole course but just play it twice haha. Its 35.00 per person to play 9 with a 30.00 replay if you want to do 18 holes. Cart rental 15.00 but the course is easily walked so no real need to rent a cart. Its off of PCH in Laguna Beach

Recommendation for a Palm...

So I ended up playing a full 18 at Mesquite Golf and Country Club... got a great rate on golfnow.com... it was an ok course... looked nice, but very flat, very wide open... not very challenging, but that was a good start because my GF is not really comfortable yet on the course and the starter let us go out as a twosome for this reason.... the greens were really hard and the water didn't really come into play on most holes, but it was fun...

Another option on the East coast besides Myrtle Beach, is Ocean City Maryland. There are some really nice courses there, and for the most part rounds can be had for reasonable rates. Here is a taste of some of the course offerings. I've played River Run, Eagles Landing, and OC Club's Newport Bay course. All three were solid offerings. Links at Lighthouse Sound Rum Pointe River Run Golf Club Glen Riddle Golf Club Eagles Landing Ocean...

I winter in Mesa, Arizona every year (2 months) and have played many courses there. I can recommend some "have to play" ones if you're interested. Some high end courses can be played at more reasonable costs if you use GolfNow.com or others.

When I was there a number of years ago, if you didn't have a tee time, you had to get there really early in the morning and put your name down on a list. Then you had a wait. We got off after a couple of hours which was great. We played the North Course, which obviously isn't as desired as the South, but it was still great.

It is not far from the Disney area and you will have your choice of a hundred courses that could be perfect. Check out the Omni at Championsgate. That one is only a few exits from the last Clermont exit and has a couple of gorgeous courses. There are litterally 50 amazing courses in that area as long as you are willing to hope in the interstate for a few minutes.
