Weld on bottom where brake...
Published (2010-01-05 11:17:00)
IF you have a dremel or that type of tool it would be easy to grind off the weld. If the muzzle covers threads, they are normally left hand on an AK variant, so turn the thing off in the "wrong" direction. If there are no threads on the muzzle, and it measures about .550 or so, you can thread it to the AK standard 14x1mm left hand. The ban is over in the majority of states and localities in this "one nation" but some states...

WASR-10 Trigger Problem
Published (2010-01-05 00:01:00)
LordVader the problem you are having is exactly what imanaknut described. The trigger has 2 arms "One on each side." The spring is only pushing on one side of the trigger. It's a simple fix. All you have to do is bend the hammer spring down on the side of the trigger arm that it isn't touching. It can be done with a pair of needle nose pliers. The next time you shoot your gun I guaranty that if you cock it, fire it, and try...

I/O Romanian AK...

A local sporting goods store has an I/O Romanian AK (2 pistol grips) for $550. Is that a decent price for that gun?

IO AK47C Trigger Sticking
Published (2010-01-02 21:32:00)
I smoothed out the lip of the sear and top of the hammer with emory paper and the gun has worked perfect ever sense. I guess there was a rough spot between the two. Thanks for the advise.

Threaded my barrel today!
Published (2009-12-27 14:28:00)
If you're threading the barrel yourself, stop a little short and try screwing on the -74 break to see how far it will go. Then thread a little more if needed. You can thread it to the point where its hard to turn it far enough to get the pin to click into place. That will give you a tight, non-wobble fit for the break. Or, on an adjustable die, thread it a little big. You might need to use a tool to turn the break with, but at least it...

It was probably a "ban" version meant for states that don't allow threaded muzzles. It most likely can be removed fairly easy and a brake can be added to the threads underneath. If you look closely I'd bet there is no bayo lug either.

Welcome to the group !!!
Check to make sure that the two arms from the hammer spring are sitting on top of the trigger reset arms.
If the springs are over the trigger arms, then at a firing area, load only one round, fire it and immediately remove the top cover. Look to see if the hammer is being held by the disconnector or the trigger sear.
My guess is the hammer springs are ...

Now that I look all of my options I don't know what to choose. I have a Century International Arms Romanian WASR10 AK47. I don't know what Milled and Stamped mean and I've no clue how to tell if mine is Milled or Stamped.

Welcome to the board and thanks for your service. I don't own an AK so take this with a grain of salt. Look at AIM surplus, they have a link on the site. They seem to have some pretty good deals.

Glad to hear your rifle returned in usable condition.
It really is strange that Century has trouble getting rifles done right the first time, but usually get it right when returned for warrantee work.

Welcome to the group !!!
Make sure the two legs of the hammer spring are over their respective trigger return arms. I have seen several AK variants lately that only had one of the spring legs over the trigger. The other was stuck beside it and caused exactly what you describe. Without both wires over the trigger bars, you would have to manually reset the hammer, again just as you describe....

Stock was made short to use heavy jackets in winter, also works with body armor if you have the bucks to have it.
Let us know how it shoots.
out of curiosity, what stampings are on the front trunion...does it have a triangle? Does it have a year of manufacture? ( if it's electro stenciled vs. stamped its not the real date...most newer ones are not electrostenciled on the trunion anymore...

Welcome to the group !!!
Replacing a barrel for accuracy reasons on an AK variant is up to you. Do you really want to spend the money?
Short history. Mr Kalashnikov designed his rifle to shoot an 8 inch group at 150 yards. If you remember what the intended target is, that groop size is perfect.
Most members here, myself included, get much better results than that, but if you ...

ha ha ha.
NO.
Look at wasr's http://classicarms.us/ longer sight radius, less than 400 bucks. If your FFL wants more than 25 for the transfer, find another. You also miss out on sales tax if you order from an out of state on line vendor...that often more makes up for the 25 USD fee, shipping on Long guns is reasonable.
The IOR is no better than a Wasr, both come form the same country,...
