I've seen guys use wax to make a mold then cast their own parts...It might be worth a try if you're really liking the grip and are good enough with your hands to try...

I thought first generation was image intensifiers; such as the Starlight? IR is a whole different game. Starlights don't emit a signal; IR does. Starlights range is about the same as iron sights as compared to IRs 100-200 yards.

Remove the blue with some Naval Jelly (no not the tranny fluid in your belly button, I mean the metal cleaning product!).
Then, use a wire wheel to finish and polish ...

Man, I just don't trust those things. First, it seems to me that the bullet doesn't engage the rifling properly, then, you're running .22 lr down a 1:7 or 1:9 barrel. Seems to me that it would have shit for accuracy.

I've seen that before, usually on surplus stuff. I don't really know what it is (some kind of corrosion) but I call it "metal mold". It never causes any problems or pitting and is easy to clean up.
I see it surplus parts kits alot.

I've only had experience in putting synthetic ones on, and it is a bear, I k ow that much. Is the laminate one you have a wooden one? I can't imagine getting a wooden one on or off without either cutting it, or pressing the front retainer on or off? Maybe I'm missing something?

The back seats of my GMC crew cab flip up and I bought a storage bin specifically made for the truck. When the seats are down, it just looks like part of the seat base. Plenty of room for my hitch receiver, floor jack, bug out supplies, and of course the 12 ga pump.

More and more, I'm digging .22s.
I started out with a Marlin Model 60. Traded up to a Remington Nylon... Whichever one takes the detachable magazines. Then an SKS, then a SMLE #4
It's gone crazy since then, but more and more, I'm digging .22s...
