What do you like about this plan?

You noticed that too, David. I passed on the opportunity to get locked into that bit of sleight-of-hand. No advantage at all to me. punamytsike, of course I don't see that rational option under consideration. What I see is a proposed system that will just add government debt to the cost of health care to the US.

Digging deeper into debt

That, of course, is what all the folks whaling and moaning about the current massive deficit spending never want to discuss - what would you do otherwise? Immediately balance the budget? I would do the opposite of what the BO administration is doing.

No Communion for our congressboy!?

No Communion for our congressboy!?

Many who are living a life of sin, go unnoticed and receive communion regularly. Truer words were never spoken (or in this case, written :-) ).

Not to mention the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic church's political arm. Their tax-exempt status should have been yanked decades ago. Here is a link that might be useful: Number 1 on the Dishonor Roll.

What does God say? Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself (1Cor 11,27-29) [6]. To receive Holy Communion unworthily is to sin against Christ Himself. Each and every man...

Phantom Jobs Interactive Map
Published (2009-11-23 11:41:00)
"No complaint about Bush's $158 Billion stimulus last year or the .75 Trillion dollar bail-out of Banks and Wall Street." Heri, The little box for "subject posting" tells you what the subject is. This one is about "phantom jobs" and finding out how many you (don't) have in your state. It's not about Bush. It's not about your favorite holiday recipes. It's not about how to get a date with a...

Whats a pupper? ;> Who cares? That's old news. Like the "left" doesn't have groups planning strategy? So what? Anything to talk about who is NOT in charge of this mess in our country, rather than who IS in charge and what is happening, and not happening.

Walgreens is offering you some help through their prescription benefit program that they have for those that don't have insurance or their medicare drug benefit has maxed out. It's a very helpful program for many people. My elderly neighbor uses it for the last 4 months of the years as her medicare benefit maxed out. Instead of the $450 a month, she pays $40 a month plus the initial $30...

Very Utopian but I would not eat vegetable grown in ground formerly occupied by heavy industry and old homes painted with lead paint. OTOH, I am greatly in favor of agricultural belts around urban cores, going back to the days of truck garden farming of the pre-20th Century period.

I was listening this morning to the radio when they were discussing the Nuremberg trials, and they repeatedly used the phrase, when describing the Holocaust, as "unacceptable". Which seemed odd, but then what other word(s) could you use?

His book, The Diversity of Life, is breathtaking and was my bible for many years. In an early chapter, regarding the human impact on life on this planet, he wrote "One planet, one experiment."
