Calling All Cs

Another C that is hardly ever picture worthy, Color Glory. This one gets spring burn so bad but this year it surprised me when it unfurled. Of course a month or so after this pic was taken it was looking horrid again.

I agree with you, Phil, but I have dear friends who might not want to remember the significance of Christmas as you and I do and I respect their choice not, to! So, I want to make sure all feel the desire I have for them to have a wonderful time of the year, with or without Christ in their lives! For me, and those who believe as you and I do, what is Christmas without Christ? :o)

I just happened by and saw your links. Much as I would like to take the time to read now I NEED to start thinking about having our immediate family here for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and again extended family ,my side, on the 27. What to fix is no problem for the 27th., but the other meals are still up for grabs. Turkey and ham are out as we will have them on the 27th.. Everyone brings dishes to pass and I provide meat. The other times I...

Loisf, for a pic of a more mature Blue Ivory, check Dutch Gardens, Blue Ivory Hosta. All descriptions I've seen suggest that a mature plant is about 30 inches across, about the same size as Halcyon, the parent plant. Now that I have read up on it, I want one. Thanks for showing us your beautiful baby. Steve

Very nice,Kathy! I heard once that hostas would grow in Alaska, but never(until now) saw any pics from up there. The hosta next to the red Astilbe reminds me of Sagae, but seems a little small for that hosta. Welcome to the forum, from North Carolina! Phil

Jakki, I'm so sorry about your gardens. You must be so sad. The weather this year seems to have been about extremes - floods and droughts. Here in Minnesota, many of our lakes were very low. Unusual October rains helped quite a bit though. Is there any way you can build some terraces that might slow the runoff? Thanks for the holiday wishes.

Excellent!!! I've done the same thing (north side) and stacked them upright! I didn't lose a one of them! Did it on the East side of our garage on concrete, too! Just sat them there, right side up, under the slight 12" overhang! They fared very well! Really, the only time I had any significant loss is the Spring '07--weird one, where everything heated up for 2 weeks and then...
