Bowling Ball almost finished

Crash glass is one of my favorite mediums. The ball itself is black, the glass was painted then broken, all but the yellow. I had used it all on a mirror and skonces so I had to paint the yellow and use clear. I am planning on grouting in black and hoping to get the effect I am looking for. Hope to finish next week. Here is a link that might be useful: WIP Album

Welcome, novice! Well, you'll be wanting your own computer real soon (if you're visiting all of our projects around here)...we have lots of fun. The best bet is to check in as often as you can...there's almost ALWAYS something new & interesting to see! Right now winter's comin' on for alot of us, so we're putting gardens to bed & gearing up for winter projects. First, I would recommend using the search box...

I use copper "Bell hangers" that were suggested on here. Some people use a flattened spoon. As you are looking around, you will see the different versions.

All wonderful pieces! I think those old ugly lamps look great in the garden. You did a super job repurposing yours. Love all the plate flowers. Great idea to use the little picture frame for the center of the flower. Thanks for sharing!

Maybe my first chandelier

No don't worry about matching, the different shades are great! It's perfect just the way it is! But if I were to do anything at all to it, it might be to do something with the long silver tube down the middle. Those curvy arms are great for hanging bling off of, like prisms or draping strands of tinsel or garlands of greens or berries in the winter or spring flowers in the spring, to maybe decorate it for the seasons. I really like it!

Just cleaning up
Published (2009-11-04 15:46:00)
Just wanted to let you know I'm cleaning up my gardens a little bit at a time. it feels so weird because we are getting gorgeous weather AGAIN. Cutting back and cleaning up. IT will be good to get some of it done and then work on leaves that start coming down but are not all the way down until mid December. That way I'll have room in the recycle bin for it---a little at a time. Anyways just wanted to share. I'm hoping that we...

Hi Gretchen! Welcome to the forum. There are how-to's throughout the site. We are always sharing how we make things or different ways to do something that most of us already do. I have had some formal art schooling but honestly I use very little of what I learned in college in the art I create. I have learned to just go with what I like. As far as inspiration goes, you have been looking at...

your backs are prettier than most fronts... what did you use to bend the bowl of the fork? I'm assuming it was laying on something and you smacked it with a hammer--- at least that's what I would do. I'm thinking of taking this idea and bending the tines around a marble and making a magic wand for my daughter. very cool.

Congratulations! Always nice to have a dependable car. You would think a lot of 4 wheelers in the desert, they are the ones that are supposed to get you out of sand & ruts I thought!!I thought you went up to your property & found a poor sweet sad eyed dog you just couldn't leave out there!! Well, you have to "feed" either & a dog won't give you a ride so car is probably a better deal. I'm sure ...
