Barrel Saddles ...

KG thanks for directing me to the saddle for sale.. But, I want a new saddle, for a few reasons, but if I get a flex tree then it will mode too him. Bit wise, I will just break him in a snaffle and stay in that as long as possible..

Helping me!!!!!

Its kind of a mix here. My horse has her nylon halter with the leather breakaway strap for at home...but I like taking her off the trailer at events with her shiny leather halter with her brass name plate You can usually find well made leather halters on clearance in the 25-30 dollar range. Its not that far off from a well made nylon halter with hardware that won't corrode in a month, might as well go for leather IMO.

What's your gut feeling? That it's nothing or that it's something. Sometimes mine cough occasionally and usually I don't worry about it. It could be dust - you've been leaving them in more lately, right?

are any horse blankets waterproof?
Published (2009-11-27 03:12:49)
Have to say the 2 weatherbetas I own are so very waterproof , they have had wet snow on them all season and no issues ! Also what you can consider if you are worried re the soggy aspect is putting a liner on horse under the weatherbeta. I put a glover liner on underneath sonnets medium and light weight blankets just to act as a extra layer so to speak. But I am not sure how hot or cold it is where you are ? that may be a little to toasty for...

Yep, anything with "turnout" in the name should be waterproof. Be aware though, some will be advertised as "water resistant", don't bother with those. Unless it's just a few raindrops, the horse will get soaked in those.

I don't know about insurance on a leased horse, but I have insurance on Roxton and can help a little.
You have to get mortality, that's the base plan. Then you add on things like major medical (with some dollar limit and deductible) or just simple colic
surgery coverage (also dollar limit and deductible). It is calculated by the horse's insured value, age, and what discipline you are riding ...

Yeah she does look a tad...hmm what's the word....uncooperative? in that first video. Moreso than I remember from previous videos. Nothing horrible just
not as willing to go on the bit. Glad you got that worked out though. It's amazing what can change in such a short period to make the saddle an issue like
that. Rox had that issue when he gained weight and muscle and I am using a thinline half ...

I feed between 8-10am and between 4-10pm. My schedule is so crazy I can't do a set time. Lucy has hay to tide her over between meals anyway, spoiled girl.

Not Justin, but there must be something in the air. I went out to check and saw Cisco running through Comet's pasture. Hmmmm, he's not supposed to be
in there.
He must have missed Justin and bulled through the gate.

Anyway, thank you, PDJ!
