Quote: There is a real place in the market (at least I WANT ONE) for a 6 or 7 shot .22 dbl action round butt revolver that is intermediate in size between a J frame Smith and a NAA mini. 75-100 years ago there were a bunch of cheap H&Rs and Iver Johnsons filling this niche. IF someone would produce a quality arm in this class I think it would sell well. You are describing the Smith & Wesson '"M" Frame...

He has the magazine extender on the XD; it's the lower pistol in the photos. His Kahr has the (mostly) flush magazine.

I find the Sig 238 carry's better in a Desantis Nemisis that doesn't have the full back plate style,it doesn't print like you think it would. It allows the gun to cant in the pocket just enough the beaver tail is hidden. I don't find cocked and locked an issue with how positive the safety is plus its in a holster and again its designed just as a series 80 1911 internally in the slide, ive been in there and checked it all out....

You can do a little polishing and buy reduced power springs and make a even better trigger.. But I dont recommend the light striker springs for carry use.

I've seen other negative reviews as well and I guess it's time to think of something else I was intrigued at first too. It is starting to look like this is just another Taurus though. The thing that really hurt the stainless slide one I was look at was the fact it was sitting right next to two Kahr CW9's on the shelf....

Sig, Glock, and HK all make fantastic pistols! However, quality isnt all a department or agency looks at when selecting a weapon. Cost plays a huge factor and also what the selecting personnel prefer plays a part too. HK is not that popular in LE or civilian use in America, and truth be told there CS is probably one of the worst out there. Not cause their a bad company, but because they dont care much about civilian sales. In other countries...

The SW1911 will be the better choice for what you want. Accurate and reliable with an excellent trigger. The only upgrade that you may want to do is the trigger itself (not a trigger job) because some have a bit of up and down movement. __________________ NRA Life Member Old age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill

I could not tolerate an unreliable gun, for any purpose. I would definitely send it back to Taurus, if they didn't fix it then it's only use would be the core of a concrete boat anchor. I wouldn't be able to sleep if I sold it to some poor soul.

As regards what in particular? Both were very common 100 years ago as carry and LE calibers. Both have been resurrected greatly in the last few years for carry guns, especially in "pocket" or "mouse" guns. Currently, IMO, 380 is enjoying a little more popularity, especially due to the Ruger LCP, Seecamp, etc..... __________________...

When regularly competing in Bullseye I routinely fired 2,000 rounds a week for practice on 2 days. Week after week, for almost 2 full years. 2*52* 2000 = 208,000 Recoil springs every 5000 to 6000 rounds. The practice gun was tightened a couple times over the period.

I use plastic ornament boxes. I label the outside and use a single box for multiple makes. For example I have a Glock 17, 19, 26 box that has 10 magazines for each of the above.

You might want to change your ranges. 2,000 rounds isn't much. In fact, I can go through that in a month or two. I have not had an actual parts breakage in my pistols.

I had a 239 and have a 226 and the 239 is much smaller. The 239 is a bit bigger than my P6 and a little smaller to my 228. I got rid of my 239 only because I wanted to carry a larger mag so I bought the 228 and a Sig Pro.

My Browning A-Bolt .270 Winchester. Absolutely Flawless. When I had my Glock 21 (sold it in September), I never had a problem with it. I had it for either 7 or 8 years, and the only "non-perfect" thing it did was when it was new. About the first 50-100 rounds, it would catch an ejected brass, about 1 per 10 round magazine, at the ejection port, but once the recoil spring loosened up a ...

You are correct. They are less reliable than other guns. I say this as a Taurus owner and a Taurus basher. I continue to say so because I don't want other gun owners to experience the frustration of a poor quality firearm... not because of some desire to shout out my superiority in taste. I've seen Taurus guns function fine, but then again I've also seen Raven, Lorcin, Jennings, ...

Kahr trigger - 41 new post
Started 1 week, 1 day ago (2009-10-30 23:37:00)  by JimL
A few days ago I handled and dry fired an MK9 Kahr. The trigger pull seemed very smooth and quite easy. The only problem with that is that a couple years ago I did the same thing with a Taurus 24/7 Pro .45 and found it very smooth as well. But when I got home with one from the warehouse the trigger pull felt like someone has poured gravel in it. Worse, after sending it back to Taurus 3 ...

I noticed that police trade in guns all have the finish worn off. Even on the glocks. Any type of holster not wear your finish off? Kydex? Leather? Nylon? I am really anal and always won't my Glock to look good.
