Beretta or a taurus

Definitely the Taurus PT92/99. If you want a gun that will last and offer superior ergonomics and manual of arms, buy the Taurus. Mine is the only 9mm I own or care to own.

You'll like it, I guarantee it. Just make sure you clean it thoroughly before hitting the range with a toothbrush and solvent, followed up by a little oil on the slide. There's a good video of how to do it on the Ruger web site. http://www.ruger-firearms.com/products/p95/extras.html

Possible mods for my P220.
Published (2009-11-19 17:45:00)
I have a bunch of SIG's, and have yet to find one that has had a DA trigger that wasnt nice. I know people like to fiddle with things, but I wouldnt mess with the stock trigger, other than to replace springs or faulty parts. Spend a little time with it as is, and I'll bet you find it shoots very well. In the long run, you'll be better off, as SIG's tend to quickly multiply, and its cheaper to learn the same trigger, than...

Possible mods for my P220. Yes, another 220 thread. I have some things I wouldn't mind letting a professional do to my gun once I have ascertained it's good health and working order, I'm wondering what you feel would be the best course of action for a W. German Sig. First, I'd like the gun refinished. I would like it as close to the factory original as possible. It's not glossy, but it's not really parkerized...

What are you paying for 9mm ammo? Found some Federal 115 gr. FMJ this morning for $9.97 (box of 50) at our local Walmart, limit of 6 items. It's hard to justify reloading my own at that price. __________________ .357 S&W 686-4 6", 9mm Ruger P95, 12-gauge Remington 870 ...

It won't go away in couple years. It is a designer cartridge with a cult following. (Think .357sig) It costs more and is harder to find than .45acp I suggest staying with mainstream calibers like 9x19, .40sw and .45acp

In my region, NIB Berettas and Tauris sell for about the same price, the Baeretta may cost $50-$100 more. NIB, I'd buy the Beretta myself. However, since Tauris usually loose their value more rapidly, if you can find a solid used one you could save quite a bit of money.

Well, wish me luck. I am going to be carrying a loaded Glock for the first time ever to work tomorrow. I know you are all saying "Don't do it! Glocks can't be trusted!" and I already know that. I am interested in buying a sub-compact for self defense and for home use. I believe I have narrowed it down to the Beretta px4, does anyone have any experience with these? I also like the FN but they do not make them in a sub-compact model. Jusr wondering what everyone thinks.

Well I just purchased a G29 about 4 months ago and have about 200 rounds of ammo threw it. So far I am very impressed with the pistol. I am very surprised how accurate it is. I bought this pistol to carry in the woods for defense against four legged critters. I carry it in a bianchi holster and it carries very well. Most of the time I forget I'm wearing it. A must have upgrade is a pearce ...

I carry my 1911 in a CID bikini style holster from Simply Rugged. They are based out of Wisilla, Alaska. I also have a magazine holder for my spare mag. I'm pretty satisfied and my very best good friend who is an LEO uses them for his personal weapons. www.simplyrugged.com

You are essentially correct. The Glock has mainly safeties that prevent firing without pulling the trigger. The trigger safety on the Glock prevents accidently pulling the trigger, but not to the extent that a "conventional" safety does such as on the 1911. Glock triggers that I have measured are close to 5 pounds, usually a bit less. My G33 for example is 4lbs 12 ounces. I actually ...

I love that little pistol. A shop near me has one in their case, I don't think it has the Ladysmith designation on it, but their price is a little kooky... they have it at $599 so I've never done anything more than look at it through the glass. For $400, I'd be all over it. Lady or no lady on the side. I think you got a helluva buy. Were it mine, I might consider seeing if someone ...

Do modern micro-9mm guns make the .380 obsolete? Even though there seems to be a huge resurgence of .380 pistols in the past year I have started to wonder if the micro-9mm pistols of today have made the .380 a nearly obsolete round. These days you can get a 9mm pistol in pretty much as small a package as most .380 guns. They...

Based on my (admittedly) brief experimentation with a G17L I'd want to see him do it in person and then I would want to immediately examine the gun afterwards before I'd sign off on this one.
