All I know is WV law. Here, a person to person transfer requires NO background check and NO paper transaction, most of the time people do not ask for an ID. For my safety, I usually get a bill of sale. I will not sell a gun that is in my name to someone who I do not know unless they are a FFL dealer. I occasionally purchase guns P2P and am greatful for this ability in WV. It gives me piece of mind that no one will ever be able to find and take...

Quote: We got shipped some Militec in spring of '05 and we were all impressed. We tested it on the crew served weapons because the 240B and M2 are hard to stop, even when dirty. When we got back from our "range" (aka the LZ when no birds were coming in) and cleaned the weapons, the Militec and fouling simply wiped off with a clean rag. That was neat. The only problem was that Militec does not protect metal very well...

First, you don't "get an invite", you ASK. I believe you can PM any Moderator and request permission to post there. With all your friend's qualifications, maybe you can hire him and sue TFL. Good luck. Of he can start his own forum and give you complete access as a charter member.

Getting matters that should be easily corrected is an absolute nightmare. Most of all, they don't exactly support our 2nd Amendment. That alone makes me use them ONLY as a last resort or of the other party insists on using PayPal and we...

I use my credit cards once or twice a week online. I have never had the info stolen at an online store. Once I did a transaction from my parents house and had the info stolen. I use CTD, brownells, ammotogo, ammoman, and dozens of other shooting, backpacking, electronics, and other sites. I can pretty much guarantee your computer has some sort of trojan/keylogger.

What is wrong here, that you have to have an invitation-only forum, (AKA a "Good 'Ol Boys" forum)? WHY would you restrict the membership from posting? What do you all have to hide? why are a group that values the second amendment so much, acting so afraid of the first? (I know, it's a private forum, but C'mon...get real!) What do you fear, from letting the unwashed masses post ...

Anyone use old tires stacked up on each other filled with sand in the center for a shooting backstop? I am needing new tires for my pickup and I am contemplating keeping the old tires and bringing them home and putting them to use for this. I think it would work well for sighting in rifles, pistols, etc. When I lived on the farm, my Dad had old Semi-Tractor Tires stacked up against a corner post ...

A man was accidentally shot and killed while riding a horse during deer season where the 3-point rule was in effect. The man and horse supposedly were both dressed in hunter orange. Makes you wonder how this could happen. My buddy said probably the guy heard the noise of the horse, pushed off the safety, and was looking at the rider thru his scope (not sure if he really had a scope but ...

Okay I have taken on the task of teaching someone how to shoot. As, you know who, was being elected she called and said that she wanted to learn and buy a gun. I took her to a local range last saturday to get a feel for her abilities and weaknesses, it seems hard for me to explain how to line up the sights or she can't seem to line them up. She started off shooting from a bench rest and kept ...

Has anyone had problems with orders from thegunsource.com (TGSCOM, Inc.)? I am puzzled because I was under the impression that it was a good source for handgun purchases online, but I have been very disappointed so far. My own personal training style for home defense is to shoot two in the chest one in the head. Been told by a few people to keep my mags loaded 2 JHP, 1FMJ (repeat) for better skull penetraion with the FMJ. I keep mine loaded with all JHP's right now for simplicity. I'm not too educated when it comes to ballistics, does that or any other mixed loading make any sense? Would it make any sense to do ...

A friend and I were having a discussion about the legality of having a firearm in our vehicles in Florida. Its legal to have a firearm in your vehicle in Florida. There has been a talk about gun safes here on the GDF recently. I am one of the guilty that keep mine under my bed, in my closet, and basement. Here's the thing, I don't want to shell out the $1500+ to get one to hold all of my guns. I want any suggestions on the best way to build a BG resistant safe, does not have to be fire resistant. Premise: The shortages you see right now in lower recievers and magazines has it's origins in simple hoarding: Consider... you buy 300 magazines @$20 each. I seldom use my credit card but I have used it a few times in the last couple months. Those places were all gun related sites. I used it for Midway.com, Gunbroker.com, and Budsgunshop.com to order gun parts and accessories. Especially for guys in combat and on patrols, why dont they all have silencers on them? I can at least understand the restrictions for civilians without agreeing, but I think the soldiers could and should use them. The only drawback I guess is reduction of psychological effect on the enemy but maybe not. I might be more scared if the enemy was using silencers than not.

Title says it all. It averages around $50.00 here in Huntsville, AL unless you go to Gander Mountain who just started charging $75.99 for their services. One question: Does an FFL dealer have to pay a fee to the fed. gov. when they transfer a gun from one state to another? If you reply, please list your general location. Thanks. CR

.223 fmj and 9mm ball don't really cut it and the military is noticing. What do you think we should switch to? I say we should use the SCAR-H since there are standard combat rifles and CQC carbines, and .45 calier handguns such as 1911s or a sig p220. The SCAR already has a DMR so thats covered and the GPMG can be the m240 to share ammo with scars, not wimpy unreliable SAWs. The bennelli is...

Seems that nothing changes. Remember when a few GI's in Iraq were going to be disciplined for scavenging armor for their HumV's? My rifle club is currently discussing the cost of membership and the possibility of creating a “family membership” rate. I volunteered to post this in hopes we could get some good feedback on what other clubs charge for families, how many individuals make up a “family” (1, 2 or 12 kids, grandpa, Uncle Joe, etc.) Do you have a reduced rate for kids and if so, what are the age limits, top
