used magazine holsters

"...used magazine holsters..." As in pistol mag pouches? There are milsurp rifle mag pouches. Any Army Surplus store will have brand new and used pouches for not a big pile of money. A lot depends of what you're exactly looking for. What firearm?

SKS Synthetic stock?
Published (2009-11-06 22:04:00)
I might normally suggest selling the SKS and buying a KelTec bull pup .308 but they are very proud of their new toy. The bull pup SKS is the next best thing in 30 cal, at least it can punch properly through a wall if need be. Chaote stocks are OK but too long, for a more accurate rifle they are great.

Surefire lamp replacement
Published (2009-11-09 22:58:00)
I replaced my SureFire G2 incan with a after market Cree R2 LED that gives over 230 lumen's. It is great. Just $19.95 plus about $2.50 shipping. Should be even brighter in the 9P. Here is the site. http://www.lighthound.com/ Note that they do have even higher output (about 300 lumen) Cree for SureFire for just a little more. Note: I have not dealt with the source you list, but their price sure seems lower than even Lighthound. BTW, my...

Flashlight brightness technology

Quote: It's hard to change a BGs attitude with a small, plastic tactical light All the same, the scalloped bezel on the cheapie I just bought can do some severe convincing. The barrel is an inch while the head is 1 1/2 inch. Gonna be pretty hard to knock it out of your own hand that way. I sure wouldn't want the thing laid forcefully alongside my head! You could take a guys nose clean off with this thing.

No, I just got it home this past weekend and haven't had time to call the safe tech. Hopefully, I'll give him a jingle in the next day or so.

A pair of safe questions
Published (2009-11-07 08:12:00)
Here's the advice I would offer based on experience. 1.Buy a safe that has external hinges on the door.Much easier to move. 2.Dont rely on silica gel packs for humidity protection.I use a Dri-Rod.Much better. 3.A good mechanical lock is vastly superior to a good electronic lock IMHO. 4.Bigger is better. :-) Southern Security Safes used to offer an excellent guide to purchasing a safe at their website.Find it and read it.It really helped me.

Safe Dehumidifier
Published (2009-11-07 14:05:00)
50% humidity is good. 45% to 55% humidity at 70 degrees is considered ideal conditions. If you get it too dry, and you have firearms with wood on them, you'll run the risk of cracking it.

Ear Muffs?
Published (2009-11-02 14:38:00)
Coots, The function of electronic ear muffs is frequently misunderstood. Typically they are a) STANDARD ear muffs which muffle sounds like other ear muffs combined with b) a microphone/speaker which amplifies external sounds IF those sounds are under a stated decibel level. They do NOT electronically muffle sounds. To obtain maximum sound reduction, buy ear muffs with the HIGHEST decibel rating (posted on package) which typically ranges from...

I suggest to keep it out of sight. Also, have as decoy a small safe in plain sight with a couple of hundred dollars and good fake jewelry.

Well, this is one of those things that there is no easy conversion factor. The candlepower is almost not used anymore, and it did refer to actual candles. I will give you a rough comparison. My Streamlight Ultra Stinger is rated both ways by Streamlight. It is rated at 75000 candlepower and at 295 lumen's. Now here is the problem. You cannot use this as a direct conversion because lumen's is ...

I got a cheap gunmate that came with an IWB clip that I use that doesn't print bad with a untucked polo with my Glock 19. I'm hoping to get a Crossbreed Supertuck (tuckable) for Christmas. Look at Minotaur (tuckable) and the Smart Carry or Thunderwear for deep concealment.

If you have a 1000LB safe and its going to be on a wood frame foundation/floor you need to re-inforce the structure. Most houses are designed for 125 SQFT. This would be 12" on center 2' x 12". At a minimum you need to be more concerned where the floor joists tie into the foundation plate/footing. Triple up on the 2x6 if you have that size or double up on 2x12 f you have that, what ever you...

I can not comment on Sentry safes. I was in Costco yesterday and they have a nice little fire proof safe for about $500. It is a Winchester gun safe. I believe the weight was 500#. More weight, harder to move. With guns etc in it, it weighs that much more.

Shooting Rest Opinions and Experiences Hey, I am getting ready to purchase a shooting rest. I plan on mainly using it for checking zero on my rifles, and when working up loads while reloading, which can involve the need to shoot 50 - 100 times through the course of an extended session, to narrow down a reloading recipe that ...
