They do have some SD or chibby qualities by going back to the series' roots, however one thing I noticed that was peculiar to FF IX were the abnormaly large hands or hand-wear that some of the characters had. I prefer Blue Magic over the others, FF IX was no exception and as always Blue Magic has proven more than useful. Quina's Mighty Guard, White Wind, Angel Snack and in rare cases Magic Hammer were essential part of every major battle, I highly doubt I would have beaten Ozma without it. It's no different than books having errors in them. Pick any book up off your shelf, I guarantee it will have at least one typo or minor error like the "blitzball" kid mentioned above.
