Miss Sis , a person can change. Just like with tastes (olives) and scents (sinful perfumes), a gal can grow to like leopard, even if she wouldn't have dreamt of wearing it when she was younger. This is true for me, though I have changed personalities. I love everything about this pic: Title: Beauty Contest Caption: A Parisian nightclub owner, appearing as 'Mae West 1966', judges a male beauty contest at an annual charity show...

I have decided to use my blog as a sort of holding place for all the information about me. Things change so much on the internet I find it nice to have one place to park that is free. It may inspire me to really give some time to working on it. Still trying to figure out how to navigate it and use it at its greatest potential. __________________ http://sandysfancypants.blogspot.com

If the patterns are in good shape, ebay is a good option. Some of the older and nicer patterns go for pretty high prices. I have sometimes seen really nice patterns go for much less than I thought they would though. I don't know much about pre 1920's patterns though. You could set up an etsy shop which would alow you to set your own prices.

I am also a lover of animal prints. However, I also have nightmares of looking like Peggy Bundy. I tend to stick with shoes, hats and gloves. __________________ http://andreahg.livejournal.com/ http://newvintage.wordpress.com/

Nice magazine, LD, those magazines are the best. Cici, I also bought some fabric recently. I've been so good with fabric lately that I didn't think it was naughty to get a little of these I'm trying to find more of the Holiday Hostess fabric. If anyone knows where I can find it, let me know! I have less than a yard, but I figure if I can't find more it will make a cute apron! __________________...

I get comments all the time when I'm working at the theatre -- before the
show I'm down in the lobby greeting customers and taking tickets, and it's
a rare show when someone doesn't ask me if I'm "dressed up special for the
movie." (This is especially amusing when the movie has nothing to do with
the Vintage Era.) We get a lot of older ladies, especially for the Tuesday
matinees, and they seem to...

I saw a purse like that in a little vintage shoppe down the street from myhouse. I'd never seen anything like it, it is so neat. All I know is that they were a popular Mexican bag, which you already knowbecause of the label. The woman who owns the shop said they were made inthe mid 30's to early 40's, but she hasn't been all that reliable on datingthings. What I do know is, she was asking a lot of...

Knitted repro vintage dresses
I just wondering if any one has knitted or had a dress knitted?
I know these were popular in the 20's and maybe other decades as well, I have a feeling knitted dresses are often close fitting and show every contour which you do not want to be seen.
or is that just with modern ones.

Great idea! I have bought from a couple other Loungers, Lauren and Vanessa, with much success. I'm sure we all want to support each other!
Here's the link to my etsy store. I am TexasGirlVintage I am mainly selling 1930s items, but may have others too.

Hi Lauren. I asked this question in the Sewing Scraps thread but this seemslike a better place for it. What is so desirable about vintage fabric? Wasit made differently? More interesting prints? Just because it "was there"?I don't know much about sewing or fabric like you and some of the otherladies do but it sounds interesting. I've got boxes of my Mom's old fabricin the basement and it would be...

Oh, those are COOL! Thanks for sharing!
My mom collects Betsy McCall paper dolls and dolls. She's who introduced me to McCall magazine when I was just a little girl- and probably is partially responsible for my pattern and magazine addiction My grandma would buy her the 50s counter books from the sewing store when she was a little girl and my mom would cut those up to make paper ...
