Lost another New Orleanian from Cigar Weekly, We dialed it back this weekend. I had a Padron 5000 maduro that I received a few years ago, when another CW friend sent me a box for Christmas. It's still a really good cigar, I think this was the end of those, though. Anyway, spare a word to the Creator and His Son, if you would, for Dr. Ashley Morris (1963-2008) He died Wednesday, and ...

Quite a few listed in this thread . My brother's 40th birthday party on Saturday was a luau, so I brought some Sailor Jerry for the drinks. Some folks on the FL recommended it, if I recall. I've drank very little rum in my life, but I tried some of this neat, and it was nice, for the price. Brad

Liquors, beers, wines, concoctions. There are some that make you wonder- What were they thinking?! Have have two in my bar right now; Gordon's Grapefruit Gin & Gordon's Spearmint Gin. Blah! Nothing slightly appealing about either one. I tried the Grapefruit Gin in a Gimlet, wound up tasting like a lime ice pop, not in a good way. "So,,, what won't you have?" ...

Pancakes were what my family made on broke nights. I still love them though. The Mac/cheese/tuna concoction was another end of the week meal when money was low. That one I cant stomach. I was somewhat lucky having an Italian family, as legumes were cheap and my mom knew how to cook them really well. These days, as an accomplished cook myself, cheap meals range from a fried egg on ...
