Screw rounded off :(
Published (2009-11-26 21:20:00)
Its probably a self-tapping screw and VERY hard to drill. Good luck. Before you do that get yourself some good quality #1 and #2 Posidriv (R) screwdrivers. They work in posi and philips screws and are much more reliable than philips. A good sharp Posi screwdriver with plenty of downward pressure before you turn it may well do the job. And once you have the right tools you will never need to mash another screw . Another VERY useful tool is an...

Radiator fan noise

53 Plate is MPi , so the fan is switched by the ECU . The fan wiring is on a plug, you just possibly need to look further up the cable. Cheers SPD

Technical: Corroding radiator...
Published (2009-11-26 21:17:00)
Hmm, I might just try that. As the leak has stopped now she's not being used. the leak also slowed the last day of me using her. So going back over it, it started the same night after me and a friend flushed the oil. We had wrong size allen key (only realised after putting engine flush in) so drove round the corner to get one. Did get quite hot! No warning light though. So could have warped the cylinder head ever so slightly! BUT! the...

OK, my girlfriends mk1's been playing up with overheating. I've checked the levels twice and had to top it up... Which I thought was just evaporation through the heat.. but tonight I've found out its leaking. Now, I found the source, and there's a hole on the bottom of the engine.. IIRC its just above the sump on the front of the engine. Its a circular hole and looks like it should have a ...

it's a 1.2 8v.
heavy movement/vibration in the car and in the engine bay from air box for the mis firing.
just doesn't run right, very un smooth plus managment light is on.
one of the old spark plugs had some oil on it, apart from that cant think of much more info to give out unless more questions are asked.
thanks

My punto hgt is due its mot in 2 weeks and I was wondering a few things...
1) Would my car pass with its current headlights (hope the pics come out ok)? And if not do I have to replace the whole unit or can I just replace the lenses?
2) Would it fail for having a rear windscreen wiper that doesn't work?
3) Would it fail for the flashing airbag lights?
Thank you in advance ...

3 Rated job in haynes. Fiat use a special timing belt tension setting tool thingy magig, so the method it gives in haynes is approximate and says to get it checked asap after dong it anyway so may aswel get Fiat to do it.
That's what me thinks anyway
