Was asked on another post what I thought a True Videographer was so going to post what I meant, here on a seperate thread so I dont hijack the other thread. What I felt was that even though I have learned through the film and slide days of photography when you better have the exposures dead on or miss the shot/event, now days many people can get "Acceptable" shots with their digital SLR's ...

Does anyone know if there's a 35mm adapter, such as the Letus, that will work with the good old Sony VX2000? Its a 58mm filter thread.

Ok this is coming out of the video vault for everyone to make fun of or maybe you won't I don't know. Anyways I did this a couple of years ago. The couple had no photographer, just me and we did this right after their ceremony. These kind of couples don't come along everyday. They were a blast and if I had the chance would definately do it again. Gebbs Total Video-Wedding Samples click on ...

I owe a couple of people here some video clip feedback but I'm posting just the same to keep the sharing on-going. The wedding coincided with the local harvest festival so I figured to put elements of it in to contextualize the wedding. As mentioned in another forum, I ...

Here's the link: 7-7-08 Wedding Highlights on Vimeo I'd love to hear what you guys think, especially the negatives. I already know this isn't one of my strongest highlights videos. I had an "off" day with the camera or something, but the couple was awesome and one of the best I have ever worked with (very relaxed and fun and trusting). This was shot in SD on Canon GL2's. ...

I'm editing a wedding where the photographer boasted of shooting over 5,000 shots. I'm sure he did, because my footage is like staring into a strobe light. Is there a filter that can offset flashes by detecting their variance with normal brightness? I know their could never be a filter to remove the pre-shot laser grid on the bride's face. Has anyone been successful working with wedding ...

Hello, I have a sony 10/20 watt on cam light that I use at weddings and it's a battery hog. Are there any recommendations on a longer lasting battery for this light? By the way, I have the NP-F970 battery. I'm also looking for lights that are similar suggestions? The light can be found here: Sony | HVL-20DW2 20-watt Video Light | HVL20DW2 | B&H Photo Video

I am wondering how those more experienced than me go about framing shots for live events? (I am thinking dance and theatre specifically.) * Do you follow "The Rule of Thirds"? * Do you just stay centered to allow sufficient room for movement? * How do you handle things differently for large groups/small groups/solos? * Regarding the highly variable lighting conditions that ...

Vimeo is pretty good I think. As for how and what to upload, just go to Vimeo and check out the "Help" section. Everything you need to know is in there.

I am not a wedding videographer, and really don't plan on it, but I have a curiosity I hope someone will indulge. I have been wondering about how you set up for filming the actual ceremony. Assuming the church wedding. If you are shooting let's say 2 or 3 cameras, where do you set them up? Where do you place your mics? And in general, how intrusive are you allowed to be? For the ...

Anyone want to share some personal experience here? I'm looking at getting the Pilot with the Canon XH-A1. I know it works well with the merlin, however, I will be outfitting it with a wide angle lens, 2 UHF recievers and a quick release plate. Anyways, with regard to the pilot with the arm and vest.. How long can you wear this thing for before you've had enough. With it's stability I think ...

Here's a new trailer I just finished from last weekend. I took a little different approach and highlighted more of the ceremony and let that drive the video a little more. This priest usually has a lot more to say, and it was my intention to use a lot of that, but was pretty short for this wedding. I was still able to get a few bits of audio to use.
