I have JVC GY HD7 & I am pretty happy with.It is simple, discreet & robust. My very big problem is that when record I do long continuous recordings in FHD, the resulting files do not edit together seamlessly, leaving holes in the recording. Therefore an interview will have a few second hole between the end of 1 file & the beginning of the following one. I cannot believe this is normal. Has ...

VisualHub is used by HD7 owners as a fast way to convert .TOD files to .MPEG files without decompressing and recompressing. For iMovie 08 users, this is faster than using MPEGStreamclip. But, if Visual Hub were to be unavailable, you can still use MPEGStreamClip. But don't assume VisualHub is unavailable just because the person no longer provides support for it. For example, I just downloaded...

I am looking for a smaller camera for my project. I was thinking about getting GZ-HD7, mostly because of manual controls. However I found an issue with editing in FCP 6. So what is the deal? I know this camera records in .TOD file and it has to be transcoded into .MOV format. Is the zip file offered in the other thread a fix for the problem? Could you by any chance give me a link to step by ...

Ummm... what's better Square 5 MPEG Steamclip 1.2 or CineForm Aspect HD v5? (Is QT Pro 7.55.90.70 compatible with Steamclip 1.2?) Or better yet, can I shoot 1080i VBR and convert using CineForm Prospect HD 1920x1080 import to Premiere CS3? All this said, what's better quality wise, Capture iLink 1440x1080 HDV or Import Re-muxed MPEG 1920x1080? Or does Premiere still require ...

Hi there. I did post this in the Vegas forum a few days ago, but as yet no response, so thought I would put it in here seeing as it was shot on a HD-7. We are using Vegas Pro 8 and a combination of both SD and HD footage that we are editing. All editing is done viewing on a LCD monitor and then when rendered down to PAL DVD the issue becomes visible. On the PC screen everything ...

I'm looking at the Everio HD30/40 cameras for a stereoscopic application because of the 1080p60 live output and slim 71mm width. However I have a few questions: - can the HDMI simultaneously output 1080p60 while the AV port outputs downconverted NTSC (16x9) ? - is there a way to turn off the auto-on/off feature of the flip out LCD? - if the LCD must be open for the camera to be ...

I am wondering if the JVC GZ-HD30 has the option to capture in both DV or HD? Right now I am deciding whether a computer is going to be able to handle the High Definition video. If not, I would still like to get the computer, but use it for DV until I get another system for the HD.

My camera was living overseas where it was stolen last week. Do I get a HD7 ? Or something else ? Since I bought the HD3 the price of the HD7 has dropped quite a bit so any advice would be appreciated. I dont have any insurance, I just want to keep using the 3 or 4 batteries, charger and USB Video Bank I already have. A new laptop went missing at the same time. I think I want ...

CCD cameras can develop CCD blemishes where a pixel or two can appear white in the image. These may be caused by atmospheric radiation and also by manufacturing impurities that begin to show after years of use. This is so common on CCD cameras by all manufacturers that we all build into our PRO cameras the ability to detect and correct these blemishes. However there are a few things ...
