Hey, first post, yay, anyway, dow to business. I was in Video Ezy yesterday and the had Alien Vs Predator under Horror which struck me as odd, as i always thought of it as a Sci-Fi/Action movie rather then horror. When I think of horror I see gratitituous, often graphic violence which has serial killers in masks disembowling with different tools, eg. Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw ...

http://www.hellboymovie.com/ It's been a pretty quiet production but there's finally some pretty cool content on the site. Surely there's never been a director who so fervently showcases the work of his artists and designers. I thought Del Toro did a remarkably gracefuly job with the first film, making very obscure, oesoteric material palatable and fun. I've no doubt that with all ...

I saw this on TV back in the 80s and quite enjoyed it. Good idea for a plot (although a little reminiscent of Theatre of Blood, and that Dr Phibes movie where he kills people via the seven biblical plagues), and kind of a tragic atmosphere at the end, if I remember rightly. My credit card groans as I head towards amazon...

Toad had not heard this one was coming, but it looks rather enticing (the overblown narration in the trailer aside).

I found a old thread referring to this a while back - but now the details are coming out: Marcus Nispel ( Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake) is directing it, and it's being written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (they wrote Freddy v Jason). Michael Bay's production company running the show. I would love to make a good quality 'fan film' - a Jason Down Under or a Psycho-style shot for ...

In my review of this film ( http://www.digital- retribution.com/reviews/dvd/022 7.php ), Will500 left this comment: 'This remake is considerably scarier than the original. I was surprised at how good it was considering the mixed reviews it received. It will really make you jump whereas the original is quite boring. I always wondered why the original had a cult following because it ...

Rather than start a new thread I thought I'd post this here... The making of the original Poltergeist: Looks like Spielberg is running the show rather than Hooper!

I'm gathering that most people here (and I include myself) have pretty broad tastes and are by and large against censorship. But do you have a line in horror/extreme you won't cross? I mean from the stuff we are actually likely to see - not the illegal s**t. For me it's actual cruelty to animals. Since I have a soft spot for them - particularly cats - I really hate hearing or seeing ...

I searched the threads and there was no thread on this excellent limited edition of the movie. It has a good 4 hrs of special features including. Ed Gein: The Ghoul of Plainfield. The images in that doco should make it scarier then the movie.TCM "Redux" doco, and Spare Parts doco's. If you dont have it, i recommend add it to your collection, the commentaries and special features are ...
