Another DME Question:Baggage Claim
Published (2009-11-25 18:48:00)
Absolutely correct. You have been given 100% correct info. Toss those yellow tags and head to baggage claim to get the bags. Be sure to add an addtl 15-20 mins to your overall time though. Then take them to DME with you, they will be loaded underneath the bus. The driver will then take them out when you get to your resort and you will have them with you. Just be sure that you have some cash to tip with....the bus driver will expect a tip when...

Another DME Question:Baggage Claim
Published (2009-11-25 22:09:00)
The intervening posters bring up a good point. Guests who allow Magical Express to deliver their luggage as the program was designed don't have to be in the room for their luggage to be delivered. This is not true of self-checked luggage. Bell Services will NOT bring the luggage until/unless the Guest is in the room. They're so adamant about this that when I stayed at OKW last year, despite having the tip money in my hand when I went...

That is so true; I have been going the Saturday after Thanksgiving for several years and they are so busy trying to get buses back to the resorts for the mass exodus of people, I have never had the same route or order once.

We flew with my DD when she was 21 months old on our last trip. We did not use her carseat on the plane as we knew we would not be doing any driving and used the WDW bus service the whole time. She was fine with just the seat belt (we have the same carseat but I wa snot sure if it was airline compliant). She had her own seat and we just buckled her in.
Our DD liked the "big girl" feeling. ...

Technically SW credits cannot be sold, they can be transferred, but not sold. Because of this, Ebay policy is to remove any listings selling SW credits.
Sales of course are not allowed on this board, but honestly, this board should encourage following the rules on this as well, and discourage discussions or at least highly censure them.

I've never actually had one measured. I just carry it on. It they hand me a yellow tag I figure the plane is on the small side and they put it underneath for that leg of the flight. If they don't I assume it will fit in the overhead.
I have seen some HUGE things carried on that I couldn't believe made it on. I don't even know who would measure the bags. The size is the airline rule...

Nope, not allowed. The best way to decide if something is going to work in a carryon, and is larger than 3.4oz (100ml), is to see if it holds it's shape when taken out of it's container. Obviously, those ice packs are not going to hold their shape.
You can pack them in your checked bags though. What a lot of folks do is to freeze a bag of corn and use that to keep things cool in their carryon. ...

The quickest way is the International Gateway to BC but as you said, 2 small kiddos with no stroller, it's not the easiest way.
You would probably be better off doing any of your resort choices and transfer. SSR/OKW will most likely have less guests on the bus than POR which would make for a more enjoyable ride. taking any boat will not be quick but they are nice rides.

Hmm, sounds like all of those companies like boardfirst.com gave Southwest a great idea!
It isn't worth it for me to pay the $10. I am right on the button at 24 hours before and have always gotten an A pass.

If you want to pick up your own luggage, go ahead. Simply DON'T attach the yellow tags at ANY point - throw them away.
Yes, the driver will load and unload your luggage in association with the same bus you ride (assuming it all made it to Orlando).
PLEASE remember it is customary to tip anyone who handles your luggage - skycaps, porters, bus drivers, bellhops... not an issue when ...

Yes you can...many guests do just that. You can find the flight info for a flight arriving into MCO about the same time you plan to get to the bus area. Then, give that info to the DME reservations folks. You won't be tagging your bags so it won't much matter what the flights really are. Then, just get up in the morning, grab your bags, and head over to level 1, ground transportation and checkin ...

I've been spending the last couple hours researching. Here is the best I found (for a company within MCO).
Thrifty with code from Orlando MagicCard. You can get one for free at www.orlandoinfo.com . Corp Code is 004m001010.
For 10 days - midsize - $285.69
NOTE: The Orlando MagicCard promotion says free additional driver - but I don't see on my ressie so can't confirm.

Best we can find is $228 for those dates. We may end up dumping them and trying to get 12/31-1/7 and use ME back to MCO.
Any advice.

Sorry to hear it. Something similiar happened to me about a year ago on Northwest. I got to the airport early, I thought about seeing about catching the earlier flight but decided to stop and have lunch and wait for the one I was reserved on. I got to PIT and my luggage did not come. I walked over towards the baggage office and there it was sitting outside the office, it was put on the ...

I am sure that if Disney knew that a Mears driver asked a DME guest for a tip they would tell Mears to take him/her off the route. If that person worked for Disney they probably would of been fired.
It is customary to tip at least $1.00 per bag if the driver stowed it for you. My guess is that at least 25 percent of people do not tip these service providers. It goes with the job. Not...
