My mom got a bitty baby for my DD when she was about 1. Also came with a suitcase and extra clothes. Honestly, my DD almost never played with the baby, but loved the suitcase to death. My DD is 10 now, and really almost never played with dolls, but the bitty baby wasn't anything special to her also. My husband is Asian, and my mom got her the "Asian American" one, thinking it was half Asian and half Caucasian. No, it is...

2 words... GATE CHECK!!!! Less chance of damage due to reduced handling in the unknown nethers of the airport. Gatecheck your stroller too and pile your seats on top of the stroller while wandering in the airport. Will make your trip better. If you gatecheck, they take it directly from the gate to the airplane. if you check at the terminal, who knows where it goes and for all you know, they could be flingling it around. I'd also invest in...

My mom and I took our first trip last year. We had no plan at all. We would decide in the morning or the night before where we were going and then call the desk to see what resturant had seats for lunch or dinner at that park. We went in October so I think that helped. We didn't get to see everything but we had a blast and are going back in March!

Some tv shows have trips to disney episodes. The only movie I can think of was done at DL and is very old and that was called "40lbs of trouble" with Tony Curtis and Suzanne Pleshette

While I never used leashes for my kids, it was only because they were calm. If I had kids that were more rambunctious, I would certainly put them on a leash rather than risk losing them.
While not necessarily the same, I read about a woman who thought her MIL was terrible for suggesting she use a leash on her child. The child pulled away and ran into a busy street where she got hit by a ...

I don't think there is an umbrella type stroller that goes up to 70lbs. The only stroller coming to mind is the Maclaren XLR which goes up to 65lbs. It's a fairly pricey stroller but should resell fairly easily for a good price.

I know some people leave a present out for their child so they get a new one each morning. Also, I definitely think you CANNOT use sparklers in the park. I certainly wouldn't want my kid to have one there. We bought a few items too but some of them are for the plane ride and the rest I figured we would introduce at meals to keep them entertained. I have no rhyme or reason to my planning on giving...

No I guess we are not the "cheap" parents. We have three kids and they have some of the things you mentioned. I guess being "cheap" won't work for us. We do enjoy music and being able to contact one another if there is a need or want.
But when I think of the money I could save I am sure it is nice to be "cheap"!

I think those sound like very reasonable bedtimes for those ages. My kids went to bed at 7pm until they were about 5 or 6. We increased it by 30 min. for a while and then by age 7 or 8 they were going to bed at 8pm. They do well with an early bedtime because they have to be up at 6:30 to get ready for school.

I don't have any advice to you yet about Santa but your post hit a nerve with me because we had to put our dog to sleep last year because he had gotten very aggressive and bit our daughter in the face. Luckily she was fine but it was the last in a long string of events. It was the hardest thing we've even done because he had been part of our family for 7 yrs and both kids really loved him. Our ...

How about Austin Joseph....sounds very distinguished. You could then use the nickname AJ if you wanted, which I think is adorable!
ETA: My sons middle name is Kennedy. Many people think it is a maiden name or a family name, but I just liked it. His full name is Brady Kennedy.
