We have had lunch there twice (just last week actually) and it was fantastic...the soup was oustanding. We prefer the lunch menu the dinner menu..I have current pictures of both in my November link in my signature

I did quite a lot of research our last visit...into CS's with the best selection... Based on that...here is what I recommend: MK: Cosmic Rays EPCOT: Sunshine Seasons DHS: Sunset Market (This is an outdoor 'market' area that encompasses many CS options...sandwiches, hamburgers, pizza, etc....it is near RnR and ToT) have a magical visit! extra holiday charge to eat?
Published (2009-11-27 10:37:00)
I agree 100%, but others feel that it is supply and demand and it is OK with them because it is Disney. What really gets me is the surcharge on the DDP for 2010. Even if you do not eat at any buffets you have to pay the surcharge. It does not affect me since I would not go at these peak times, but I think it is disgraceful. Just a way to get another $5 per person ($1 per kid) per day for the DDP. Do the restaurants get any of that extra $5?...

The only way to know for sure if Dumbo is a possibility is to let our fingers do the walking and give WDW a call. There is a cake hotline listed on the first page of the cake super thread. You can definitely get a cake at 'Ohana. I see that calling will be a pain. They only need 72 hours notice - maybe you can order the cake after you arrive for later in your vacation?

The pretzels at any of the carts are exactly the same. The only difference that you'll find in pretzels is Germany and I believe Norway. All are very good.
I mean this from the nicest place in my heart , but you should stop worrying so much about every single last detail about every CS and snack. It's vacation at Disney - it's all good.

Based on past experience and experience this year, I think your question should be what restaurants might possibly still have space at this late time (assuming we are talking Xmas 2009).
If we are talking in the abstract, I like Boma, Cape May Cafe, Biergarten, Le Cellier, Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, and Ohana as great Xmas choices.

Two words:
MUST DO KONA!!
OK, that was three words, but Kona is our families favorite on the loop.
The Wave has a more sophisticated menu. Have the teens check it out online to see if they would even be interested.

I had breakfast there last month, and it was really good. Let's see what I can remember.....scrambled eggs, ham, all sorts of pastries. I know there was a bunch of other food, but that is all I remember.
I do know that I would go back in an instant!

Only buffets and all you can eat family style or fixed price restaurants.
I believe it is in effect from December 16 or 17 until January 3.

Yes, you can order food while sitting at the bar off to the right. TDCNala had a nice list of places that you can order while at the bar, but I don't know them all offhand. She's mentioned eating there before. I have usually eaten at the Cooking Place counter, but I would probably eat at the bar.

and I'm hooked. We always make out on the plan financially.
I do see the other side though of not eating as much and skipping dessert.

I agree that Disney could at least use quality products. There are certainly whole wheat products out there that don't crumble and fall apart. And this for what they charge?

Iirc, we liked it too for the choices and the nice seating. We were not on the dining plan, though.
I am guessing because the kids menu only has nuggets?

Don't think so. They sell Spaten Optimator at Sommerfest. Biergarten has it and also Hefewiesen. Outside at the beer cart they sell Beck's. Pretty sure there isn't anything like you mentioned.

My mom and I went opening week and it was amazing! We had the mezza platter for a shared appy and Greek salads for our main (we were headed on the cruise the next day so eating light) - everything at the tables around us looked phenomenal too...can't see why it's getting such bad reviews, maybe we were just lucky.

I don't drink tons at Disney World, but I really like the electric lemonade at the 50s Prime Time Cafe. My girlfriend really liked the Ultimate Long Island Iced Tea there as well.
