Oh gosh, that isw devastating. Wish you the best of luck and my prayers will be with you. Make sure you keep talking to him, and remind him his family is there and loves him. From a healthcare point of view, talking to someone who is comatose has shown to work some miracles. My prayers to him, your family and the family of the other teen.

Christine I think I am going to print this out and take it to the rad onc. and ask her about it. I know I have a remenant left, and she has said not to worry. I know she has even written a chapter in a thyroid cancer book, I dont know what it was about etc. I wonder what she will say. I'll report back.

Go and spend the weekend at WDW. At first I'm sure it will be emotional but you will remember all of the good things that happened there. My brother and his crew were there last month and took 4 of my late wife's memorial cards and hid them around the parks. I can't wait to schedule a trip and try to find them to see if they are still there!! It will be tough, but if I find one it will put a big smile on my face.

I am so sorry you and your husband are going through this. I lost my beloved husband, Mat, to pancreatic cancer on July 7, 2008 after an eight month battle. Mat was 55 when he passed. He, too, was fit and healthy. His diagnosis came as a complete shock to us. We had a different situation since Mat went to the emergency room because he was weak, had lost weight without trying and his eyes ...

Hey, I just stumbled upon this thread. I was diagnosed with papillary cancer last year and had a total thyroidectomy. It was only on one side but the whole thing was removed. I had a friend who went through the same thing, only, they took just half out. They had to operate again to remove the other half after test results came back. That would be a bummer. I had the surgery on 9/1/06 and ...

Well first heres a and I would say get at least 2 or 3 opinions since this would be such a life changing surgery. Have you checked out alll the specialists in the NY metro area, in NYC?? I thought I saw once on CBS news something about uterus sparing surgery for patients. I would make sure you have done ALL your research and covered ALL your bases for sure. Ask your family doctor, ask the OB/...
