Perhaps someone has had similar issues...: I am working with an "English language" stock agency and I will also be working with a "French language" agency. Today I am keywording my images in English and embedding the data in the file (Using Portfolio as it so happens). My French agency will of course need keywords in French. What is the best way to manage multi-language keywording?...

Not sure if this is the best section to post this in but since it partially concerns keywords I'll try: Is anyone familiar with how it works to embed custom defined metadata fields in the file? I thought that you could only embed 'standard' IPTC fields but apparently I am wrong. Here's a scenario: Alamy has introduced a non-standard keywording hierarchy that does not fit with the ...

After i read the book i was searching for tooling to help me with synonyms, plurals, etc because it's very complicated to do this by hand consistent. However i ran into this artikel of Dan Heller: http://www.danheller.com/blog/posts/keywording-and -future-of-stock.html His advice is not to over-keyword becouse the risk of false-positives in your search result and i think he's right......

( Short introduction: I am a Miami based photographer that is beginning to implement a DAM system. I have read Peter's book a few times and have been reading parts of this forum.) I have been reading a lot about key wording though a controlled vocabulary and unsing one makes a lot of sense to me. I would like to know if there is a preference or difference of key wording in Bridge (...

I'm quite familiar with the distinctions between the Title, Headline, and Caption fields (I recently published an article on this , partly as a resource for my students).  What I'm interested in here is how other people (this means you) are using the Title field.  I've been using it for many years now, and would like to compare my technique with yours.  It's not something that gets ...

I just got about a thousand slides scanned by Scan Cafe and this data migration got me thinking. In the days of slides I had a database to organize my slides and I had a field that included the geographic distribution or the range of a particular animal (I have gotten a couple of editorial sales by knowing this info). Would the location field be the appropriate one for this? For ...

Hi everyone, A colleague of mine recently informed me of a new keywording software by Cradoc Bagshaw, the maker of fotobiz and fotoquote.  It is called  FotoKeyword Harvester .  It looks like it could greatly speed up keywording for stock image submissions.  Anybody here used it, or have an opinion? Cheers, Josh
