As predicted, the next phase of disgraceful tactics is being launched. <http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/dankennedy> Buckle your seatbelt. Make sure your nausea bag is at the ready. Because the slimiest accusation yet aimed at Barack Obama is on the verge of having its moment in the mainstream media. Within certain fringe elements of the anti-abortion right, it's been an article of ...

From CNN..........Please comment.... McCain Picks Palin Sen. John McCain has picked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, a senior McCain campaign official told CNN on Friday. Palin, 44, who's in her first term as governor, is a pioneering figure in Alaska, the first woman and the youngest person to hold the state's top political job. She catapulted to the post with a strong reputation...

I don't think they've been sheltering her specifically to lower the bar for the debate with Biden; I think they've been sheltering her because they know she can't handle the job. She wouldn't have shown herself to be so ignorant during the few interviews she has had, if she had a choice. Teresa

What do we expect from this debate? Will Palin be strong and convincing? Will Biden go on the attack or try to be ultra nice? Will the result convince the American people that she's a legitimate Vice- Presidential candidate or a distastrous choice by McCain? My guess is that one way or another, the debate will be definitive.

This is one of the most brilliant analyses I've heard about the relationship between the swooning Europeans and The Chosen One. News & Opinion Friday, October 3, 2008 Click here to find out more! Why Obama wouldn’t be elected here Mely Kiyak Frankfurter Rundschau Everyone says that Germans would vote for Barack Obama if they could—but it’s not true, said Mely Kiyak. Sure, they’d elect ...

I went in a state of shock when I looked at the roll call and saw that my own Rep (a Democrat) had voted "no." I already knew I was only going to vote for her because she's the Democrat, and besides the Republican opponent would have voted the same, but, well, saints preserve us.

Strong reciprocity evolved as a dominant cultural survival trait - to the extent that nearly every society exhibits it It is neither altrusitic or purely selfish, and contradicts in part both right and left wing stereotypes of economic man (i.e. Hume and Rousseau) But Adam Smith was perhaps the first to really get this in his Theory of Moral Sentiments http://darwinianconservat...y-and-...

Jeff Jacoby wrote: Why not? Because you don't have to be rich to be skeptical when a candidate argues that the top 1 percent of taxpayers, who already pay 40 percent of federal income taxes, aren't being taxed enough. Nor do you have to be an economist to wonder about the grasp of a nominee who tells 95 percent of the public that they can have something for nothing. Obamanomics may look pretty...
