Life policy on ex-employee -...

I could understand if the policy was a key person policy, which usually is a multiple of sales generated by that key person. However, with the OP no longer an employee, I fail to understand why the contract is still in force. Remember...the average response time to a 911 call is 4 minutes. The response time of a .357 magnum is 1400 feet-per-second.

You were definately scammed. Trouble is your policy doesn't have a provision for being scammed. Your policy will talk about theft but it doesn't consider a theft being where you deliver the vehicle to the thief. Did you give the person a bill of sale? I think that is a question of general law, the maxim that "Noone can benefit by his own wrong". No clause in the policy is required.

---What is the catch and is it a good company? --- It's a great company ...if your goal is to ripoff your friends and relatives by steering them towards high commission trash investment products after you receive a quickie certificate claiming that you are now an "investment advisor". The company stays in business by using YOUR family relationships and friendships to unload a poor investment product . After you sell, to family...

I think that you do not need this, if you have proper term life insurance in place as part of your overall financial plan (which include term life, long term disability, health insurance, saving for retirement, staying out of debt, save for kids college, etc). "entitlement" is a strong word for a rip-off policy. The mortgage company sold your name to the insurance company. They can deny you for no reason, so much for entitlement. In...

Wow, I did not know that. Here in CT, HO-3 is the standard. If my ancient memories are correct, I think a HO-2 gets ya' fire, lightning, theft, wind, hail, aircraft, riot, vehicles, explosion and smoke for perils....

In reply to: as drug company revenues are squeezed there is less likelihood of research for new and better medicines. We will likely have lots of cosmetic medicine coming from the R&D; things that are outside of the traditional medical insurance coverage - at least we won't have wrinkles!

Bob, in keeping with Obama-care, your charge for advice has been reduced the mandatory 20%, you can only charge 4 cents now.

The assumption is that in the event of your death, the executor of your estate will sell your home to pay off the mortgage assuming the value of the home/land is enough to satisfy the debt?* If so, then I'll further assume you have enough liquid assets to pay your final expenses including any medical bills and funeral costs. If the above is accurate, be advised in...

No two people are the exact same financially and the same goes for this advice. Some folks can stand the loss of a 20-30 thousand dollar car and it will not affect their standard of living. Others live day to day and paycheck to paycheck and the small monthly payment for the physical damage coverage is easier to pay than the cost of losing the 4 thousand dollar...

$9500 is the "going rate" for that procedure in your area. medical providers who agree to accept assignment are willing to take a lesser rate in exchange for prompt payment. uninsured pay the least (usually 15% of their bill or less), followed by Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance. thx for the input. most folks seem to think they are invincible and will never have a need for such coverage . . . especially at such a young age. the popular story in LTCi circles is Christopher Reeve (Superman), but it always helps to show things can happen to the rest of us as well. thx for sharing. Cancellation charge is very customary. Another term for it is "short-rating" the premium. The way to avoid it is to change insurers at policy renewal time. If your car is totaled, you will receive its pre-loss "actual cash value". Be prepared to document the heck out of your claim that your vehicle was in "excellent" condition before the incident- I have yet to meet the person who says that their car was fair or poor.

you could have preserved your HIPAA rights by continuing COBRA, a HIPAA qualified plan or (in many states) STM (short term medical). if you have had more than 63 days without coverage, any pre-existing conditions may not be covered under the new plan for up to 12 months. read your policy for full details. starting over won't make up for your lack of coverage. you ...
