This is good customer service. You may want to post this on the Money board. There is an excellent savings list posted on the top of the Dump Your Debt board that will give you ideas of how to save on various things so you can have more money to save. The first place to start saving is by contributing to your 401K, and opening a Roth account for your retirement. It is always better to start early, but it is NEVER TOO LATE to start. I started...

AT&T Wireless - Forums...

I have been an AT&T wireless customer for about four years. I have only had to call their customer service line twice and both times the first person I was connected to understood the problem, was able to offer a clear explanation of why it happened and, most importantly, offered a resolution to the problem. In both cases this involved a financial consideration by the company. This is especially noteworty since the most recent incident...

Priceline - Forums powered by...

We had a pleasant experience with Priceline this summer. Our trip had to be canceled due to a death in the family. We had purchased expensive hotels in Seattle and Vancouver for very good prices and were due to lose much, over $500 by canceling the trip. We called, told them about the death and they graciously refunded every penny after calling the funeral home to verify our claim. We were delighted, as we had been led to believe they never...

I agree. I had a friend who had a "name your own price" hotel booked and then later, before she used the booking, her sister was at the point of death. Priceline called the hospital to verify and then refunded 100% of the booking.

Wow, a new experience! Okay, I call BBY to buy a DVR...I go through punch in this number and that number, and then I get a message I am the 40th person in line--but then the call center will call me when there is opening...Not only do I get a call back, but I get an American whom I can understand and who does NOT read from a script...What a great innovation...Wish cable tv and internet providers would offer this same service and ditch India...

New regulations requiring co-signers for those under 21 doesn't hit until February. Until then, he has a shot at getting an unsecured card in his name only. (No risk to YOUR credit, and no security deposit) I personally suggest the Discover Student Card . (No annual fee, slick online tools, good customer service) He probably can qualify for a department store or gas-station card, look for the pamphlets by the checkout. Either way, theres...

In reply to: I was deliberately lied to about a cell phone purchase, was left stranded a thousand miles from home without service and received the thinnest of apologies with no offer of any sort of amends. It's kinda hard to believe that Best Buy could be the only one to blame if you were somehow stranded a thousand miles from home with no way to solve the problem just because there was no cellphone coverage wherever you were. jimb

I'm happy you had a good experience, but you'd better hope you don't have any problems post-purchase. I was deliberately lied to about a cell phone purchase, was left stranded a thousand miles from home without service and received the thinnest of apologies with no offer of any sort of amends.
