You have maintained your sense of humor. I would use the two-night stay in a minute because the likelihood of another power outage unless you were there in monsoon season or something is not that likely, givien the fact you say yourself, that 3 years past were delightful! Whatever you may do as your living hardly enters into this, I'm poorly paid myself, but I don't believe anyone is taking advantage of me unless I fall asleep at...

<thanks for sharing your dramatic response> This from the person who wrote the original post. Perhaps the local "action news" team should be alerted to such a dramatic response.

You can always play a pre-recorded message that claims "this can be monitored for Quality Assurance" That pretty much covers it.

Well, their reversal department is finally back up. Of course, at this point, by the time the money would be available in my account I'd be pushing the payment back out. So, I'm letting the payment stand. I have the assurances of "Franklin" that the auto pay has been canceled completely and no more drafts will occur without action on my part. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you all for your advice!

Touche! You actually are funny (don't know about smart, but ok, I will give you that). In all sincerity you are right that I should have read the policy. I had never run into that before when shopping online, but will check in the future before I order and keep my rants to a minimum. ha!

I have an Ing Electric checking account, and the only problem I have with it is that you do not have any paper checks. Everything is electronic. I do find that once in a while I need to write a paper check and this account doesn't allow for that. If you are set up with a Credit Union that is probably your best bet. Remember, the government cannot give anything to anyone -- that they have not first taken away from someone else......

Criminals? Writing hot checks is criminal too. It is a personal responsibility to have money in your checking account when you write checks. --- John Galt sank his ship, went down with his entire crew (A. Rand) Healthy citizens are the greatest asset any country can have (W.Churchill)

I think FedEx is the responsible party. The OP went to them and asked if they could ship the battery. They should have known what types of batteries are considered hazardous.

If you do end up pushing payments out of your bank's online payment account, make sure you know if it is an electronic payment or not. Sometimes a bank will say it can pay it, but all it ends up doing is mailing out a generic check to the address they have on file. you set it to pay on the 10th, it mails out on the 10th. Your bill company gets it on the 14th and it's late! I've also seen electronic payments be debited on, say...

This is an educated guess, not a definitive answer. It has been years since we have had any known "free incoming" text in the USA. T-mobile prepaid used to have it. Free2Go had it. Some old Tracfones still do. Generally though, text rings up even if a spammer hits you. I am betting you will want unlimited, especially after hearing how many my kid racked up on ...

Sorry, but this is the kind of shady tactics that DirecTV engages in. You are not the only person this has happened to. What I would do would be to call DirecTV and record the call. Don't tell them that you are recording the call, you can assume that the "this call may be monitored" message is sufficient notice. Anyway, act like a new potential customer and ask ...

Usually insurance companies pay bills received no later than 12 months after the service was provided. In the event that this is not the case, write to the CEO of Quest - his name and address (headquarters for Quest) is in the Quest annual report on their website under "Investor information". I did this with a billing issue and received a very courteous response ...
